Your argument is full of crap and make absolutely no sense, doing something as simple as making the t34/85 a single tank call in and reducing the firing rate will brake the game? Are you crazy? Your teching up theory is full of crap to I never seen that crap work, give me one replay of it working against a competent axis player, I doubt it even exist.
I have seen Symbiosis (I think) use strat, quite effectively if I am not good enough for your liking. Players don't use it that much, because there are less risky ways to win a game as Soviet. Me including, it doesn't make it any less viable strat if you choose to employ it.
If you cant get through the game with con-rifle-120mm mortar- 2X T34/85, then it says something about you, not other players who use it quite effectively.
Calling something crap, without ever trying it, well what can I say to you without being insulting? |

For "you don't need to tech up" you don't need to tech up on tiger and elephant as well. It's really biased for exaggerating the "No tech up" to an specific unit which is more or equally same price as German end-game heavys but only 1CP earlier. OR Make it 5 CP but receive a huge buff to a normal standard and single call-in.
Are you saying you can survive with Pios only until you get Tiger or Elephant in 1v1 game?
That is what you are saying.
Because I can play entire game as Soviet, with that particular commander, having only HQ
Not sure why you giving me numbers and stats, I even said that T34/85 is quite useless if you don't use it that way........
The problem is you want t34/85 to be something they are not designed for. Tech up and build T34/76, Its a lot better option for you |
I have all game modes clicked often, usually it takes me about 5-6 min to get into 3v3+ game (which is horribly unbalanced)
2v2 games it takes me about 10 min (which are horribly unbalanced)
If I wanna play 1v1 it takes 10 min + (mostly skill difference is absolutely huge, almost never a close entertaining game)
This are numbers if I search as Soviet,
If I search as German it takes 10 min to get into 3v3+ game
10 min + to get 2v2
and 1v1 mostly I give up, before finding a game.
Note I search from Australia, usually when the player numbers are at lowest (Not sure for other times but usually 80%+ search as German 20% or less as Soviet) |

Keep in mind that:
1) The T-34/76 was buffed hugely. That´s why the dps is so similar.
2) The (regular) commander that contains the T-34/85 has the "mark target" ability, which enables two microed T-34/85 to beat a Panther. Any bigger buff to the T-34/85s dps would totally screw armor balance.
Well T33/85 are hugely costly, and yes they are inferior to t34/76 when you look at the cost of 1 t34/76 and compare it to how much one T34/86 ends up costing.
But a lot of people here forget that you don't actually need to tech up and go through tier buildings.
You have everything you need to win, with this commander, from HQ and CP units alone!!!
As you say Cardboard Tank, If T34/85 is any better when hitting field in 1v1 (assuming someone uses no teching up tactic) this commander would be just about invincible.
Once again, if you are teching up through tiers, yes T34/85 is inferior tank. But please guys, try to look at the commander. Its clearly made for that purpose, cons > guards > T34/85. It works quite well, and obviously t34/85 hits the field roughly when Piv does too. I doubt thats by accident... |
i Would like to see, more stats like how many vehicle/buildings destroyed, etc. Rather than how many times I used ability with certain unit, or how much damage I have taken.
P.S. I really dislike damage dealt for team games. It gives some arty/stuka/katusa spammers false idea on how good they played/are.... |
lol when did i say pgs arent a useful unit, just the halftrack call in is very expensive and only useful in certain circumstances so why nerf it
Lol, after re-reading. The numbers don't add up.
I thought you were talking about PG's. My bad
In that case, I agree
P.S. In my defence, I forgot what was the OP about reading throgh the thread. Saved myself? |

Only thing striking me in those stats is the reload time doubling for some reason. Maybe cut that down to 6 seconds with some testing to see how that affects the DPS of the unit
I've actually ran into a guy who beat me twice using the 34/85 as his main vehicle option. Instead of teching he used the good old perfect synergy guard doctrines to stay competitive early game, and right at about 4 cps (12-15mins in) he gets 2x t34/85s since he would already have 300 fuel saved up. At that point I didnt ever have more than 1-2 vehicles so naturally my p4 would get rammed and whatever is left would get beaten. I had to change my build entirely to deal with that, but to be honest the tanks werent the issue... the dual 120s with perfect RNG killing my squads left and right were :/
Was it me? lol
Kidding, I use that strat. Works well, but you have to make it count as soon as you get those 2x T34 or it becomes a hard time..
P.s. after you get t34's if the game isn't finished, get tier 2 and some Zis. Zis works well in combo with T34's
@ The_red_bear I think his point is, if you use them in the right way they are effective.
That is relying on the Guards to carry you through to T34's, but you cannot do tier 1 or tier 2 buildings.
Didn't I even post a replay for you to have a look because we had this discussion.
"why tech up when playing Soviets"
Or was it someone else.. |
is there really any need? they are about equal to a t70, they lose to a t34, the only other unit they are useful against is an su85 that isnt supported, which is unlikely to happen.
They are also crazy expensive, 55 fuel, 560 manpower and 120 munitions is a lot imo
Well, I hugely disagree with that. PG's are highly effective and useful unit, at least for me.
Actually, I won't even bother explaining. |
Responses to BabaRoga:
The friend invite and custom games system is a way to bridge that gap. You just have to get used to having more people in your friends list, to help keep things organized, you can tag them as CoH2. The problem for some, not you, but some toxic people is that it'll be hard for them to make those friends.
Another method is to use Steam Groups, create a generic group and use group chat. Then you can create parties to go into custom matches from within that chat.
I don't have to get used to anything, Either I enjoy the game or I don't. Its just a game, I will survive. I don't think I am toxic, but I don't want to go through so much effort to play a game.
It's a bigger problem that just adding in lobbies, even if Steam/Valve had support for it this very moment, it would still be an issue that would prevent or delay its inclusion.
There is no problem there, as far as I am aware. Problem is that Relic took an easy way out from dealing with problem you described :
The biggest online multiplayer games out there spend a lot of time and resources doing that very thing. League of Legends literally has psychologists on the payroll coming up with schemes to promote more positive play, including both positive for good behavior and negative reinforcement for bad behavior.
And it costs money and time to get such systems in place, CoH2 may not be big enough to warrant that effort.
Bottom line is, I bought the game for my own enjoyment not someone elses. If I cannot enjoy the game in convinient way and not feel like I am at work and do logistics and planning, thats where the argument ends for me. |
So how does doing every task more poorly not indicate being worse at multitasking? Doing a poorer job overall is still a poorer job. Which means mistakes during actual play.
Sorry dude, you got that all wrong.
It means that people who think they are great at multitasking, keep multitasking things they shouldn't.
We all do multitasking, some people are just better at switching from multitasking to more attention or full attention.
If you can do that, you will generally be more efficient and make less mistakes than someone who believes they are doing great job at multitasking everything.
It is also problem that people who multitask everything tend to be so proud, of their self-assumed greatness. It is very difficult to convince them otherwise. You can have as much statistics, mistakes, etc. Every proof possible of their overall inefficiency, at the end they will blame everyone and everything else, but their multitasking.
Trust me, I deal with a lot of that at work |
