German tanks are better and therefore cost more which is perfectly fine. From a gameplay perspective this means that losing a t-34 or a su-85 as a soviet player doesn't hurt as much as losing a panther or PIV as a german player. So in conclusion soviet tank play is more forgiving than german tank play. You hit it on the head, Gustav. Soviets are more forgiving because they get 6-man squads for the same price as 4-man squads. Although they have the same survivability against small arms, Soviets are more resilient to all other types of damage (flame, explosive, etc.) at the same cost. Meanwhile, vehicle costs on both factions do differ, so there's no inherent advantage gained by Ostheer for having tougher tanks as they do have to pay for them. In: Lobby

In some matches, I've instantly pressed retreat on all my infantry as soon as I see the flares only for them to be cut down more than halfway to base because the plane followed them. The first pass should strictly be in a pre-defined circle and then it can search for targets on subsequent passes. Make the circle larger than the current targeting circle to compensate. This should be the case for all airstrikes, not just the Soviet one. In: COH2 Balance

Industry is still pretty damn good - it's just being overshadowed by 1CP Guards/Shocks at the moment, which says something. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Guard30 Dec 2013, 23:12 PM PTRS has a chance of one-shotting a model (not a high chance, its about 5%?) and also makes the squad jump around if they miss (they toned this down a bit, it used to make them jump for days on end). @JHeartless: Why do you feel that the Guards munitions are a problem? Considering those abilities, when spammed, allow the squad to take on pretty much the entire German arsenal of T1 and T2 (minus an MG42 with a spotter) is pretty amazing. Let's just compare the unit to the Panzergrenadier: -same MP cost -same armor and hp per soldier -6 Guards vs 4 Pgrens -lower reinforce cost per soldier -same nade with same cost -default guard AI much weaker than default Pgren but has AT -upgraded guard (60muni) AI weaker than default Pgren but has AT and CC for vehicles -default guard AT weaker than upgraded Pgrens (120muni) and has slightly weaker AI -upgraded guard (60muni) AT weaker than upgraded Pgrens (120muni) but has slightly better AI Considering how you can't unequip your shreks after you buy them, I don't see how the German equivalent is light years ahead of Guards, especially considering Germans have to spend more ammo to even have AT on the squad and also more ammo spending overall as a faction (ie, losing out on opportunity cost - medic station even costs ammo). Note that pretty much all the Guard doctrines have Mark Target - any more damage from their PTRS's can result in some serious bullshit. In: COH2 Gameplay

This is because they get the best of both worlds and get to combine all of their tech which they seldom regularly do in 1v1 whereas Germans simply get the opportunity to go T4 (which is far less options than two whole buildings plus call-ins). Most germas only spam grens blob and if you dont have shock troops, you have problem deal with this blob. But sometimes i have lucky satchel throw. :-) 120mm mortars are deadly against gren blob if you have them available. Katyushas are also really good if you went T4. In: COH2 Balance
