They are based on what you said. Since I am pretty sure you are not a complete noob, that was sarcasm. Only a complete noob would experience and have trouble with things you described.
No, a complete noob still builds MG42s
you cannot reposition MG42, leaving it on its own and getting squad wipes from Cons
Please
Sorry, what exactly do you mean? I don't get it

I have recently encountered a lot of grenspam builds followed by a sniper.
My question is; how do you kill that sturdy bastard?!
No matter what I try he always escapes unless I demolish the whole enemy base...

Who the fuck is Nullist?! MVGame |
Seb is working on some very powerful filters right now. When he's done, you'll be able to customize the way you view our forums like never before. It's gonna be cool
We'll try to move some of those threads to their appropriate sub-forums.
Good to hear, thanks for the effort! |
I have noticed that everybody seems to post in the COH Central subforum, regardless what the topic is about.
I think it would be good, if the forum administration moved topics to their appropriate subforum so the CoH central forum doesn't get spammed with stuff that does not belong there. |

Thanks for the advice! We decided to just baserush them from the start. Finished the mission within aprox. 10min |
PTRS and Zis could use a penetration buff but even right now you still have buttton, mark vehicle, SU85, T34 spam, cheaper mines, etc. If Soviets aren't good enough at killing armor then the solution is to fix that, not dumb down the entire fucking game. Everyone is scared of aggression when a AT nade or faust can damage engine on any tank that was only in the zone for a fraction of a second.
No matter what is done the AT mechanic in this game is probably going to be shit anyways since there are no flanking TDs, they just sit safely in the back while dealing out 25% dmg to most tanks with one shot like this is a Men of War game.
Once more, I totally agree with your opinion. |
The effort to bring it to good use is just too high compared to spending those 240mp on another grensquad. |
Yup, I hear you man. I was sick of that 2 so I started supporting my HMG with Grens. It works well, they tear apart those crawling Cons. You should try it You can also, pack up and reposition, while they are still crawling. Usually plenty of time to bring some reinforcements to help out.
Maybe also try not using them as first line unit. They work best when moving after Grens and backing them up
I don't know what your assumptions about my playstyle are based on, but they seem to be entirely wrong.
As of now it can´t fight on it´s own. If you always have to support it, you sacrifice a lot of mobility: Not enough that you didn´t build a Grenadier for that 240MP - no, you need another Grenadier to babysit your MG. And even then it´s performance is rather "meh".
I´m better off getting out two Grenadiers. In fact half of the games I don´t even get a MG42. One ammo cache and you can use Grens with LMGs.
There you have the reason for that dull grenspam...

From the thread about the KV8
You obviously didn't watch the replay (nor very familiar with Winter Pripyat, where there are 4 high munition sectors) but the map control was fairly even and I was killing all the "shock units" instantly while maintaining a VP bleed for most of the game. All my muni expenditures were easily equal to or greater than 480mun with a Shrek upgrade, LMGs, rifle nades, healing, tank MG upgrades, and whatever I was floating. So yeah, might want to do some research next time ok?
Well said.
It's not that hard to save up 240 muni for soviets even without holding most of the map.
