The caveat with targeting individual squads with a set up MG is that one misclick means it's going to pack up and essentially commit suicide.
you can always press A then click on the squad. if you miss, the mg will just have an attack move order (but since its already set up with units in the arc, it just keeps shooting). if you click the squad, they target it. |
so if you have your mg in a building and you click on a target it will reload before firing even if it dosent have to change window?
as far as i know, its only when they change windows. that pause youre seeing could just be the slow weapon traverse. |
pre WFA i would inderstand the whole "axis do more damage" argument. now i dont think that argument works anymore. jaigen is somewhat right, rifles with upgrades can have extremely high dps. paras with upgrades also have high dps. they both do over 25 dps at max range when they have lmgs. an lmg gren on the other hand is doing closer to 15.5. even an ober squad is only doing about 28. |

playing like this certainly isnt easy to pull off, but i dont think that calls for buffing soviets. if you balance based on lower skill levels, there will be imbalances at high levels. |
If conscripts get improvements, then soviet players won't need to rely on their Doc inf + tank doctrines, and we can finally see some diversity.
if you want to see some diversity just watch those replays i linked. redxwings uses none of the so called required units for soviets. no maxim/sniper/shocks/guards/t34/85/is2/isu. |
I would love you to play against any of top 50 OKW players using cons and merge him to death until T3/T4, where both SU-85 and T34/76s excel against pumas and shrecks as we all know.
I'd pay a dollar to see that.
Play against OKW without using maxims or snipers and without spamming guards, rely on conscripts as you believe is possible and share with us your results.
Unless you believe they are only there to merge, then replace them with halftruck that reinforces.
Of course they perform "fine" for you, after all you need zero effort to counter them.

this has to do with the "trust" rating you have. the team with the lower rating is supposed to receive a loss after a sync error. the more times players drop, the lower their rating. this is intended to deter people from dropping any time they are going to lose a game.
having no one get a win or loss would be a bad system. players could purposely drop to prevent losses. unfortunately the current system does occasionally punish players like yourself (its happened to me too), but in the long run, people who purposely drop and de-sync should be the ones getting losses |

because munitions are a finite resource. if that wasnt an issue, of course i would always put lmgs on everything. so is a gren without an lmg worthless?
Wouldn't it be better for the game and make more sense to have conscripts be the bulk of the infantry (like in their description), with a few elite squads thrown in to deal the damage? You know, like how OKW plays with Sturms/Volks + their elite infantry?
yes, i agree, that would be good. what i dont want to see is pure con spam. look at how ivan used to play (and lenny still plays). con, con, con, con, con, con... if you make cons scale well into late game, why would anyone bother to build anything other than t0 units that are cheap to build and reinforce?

the answer to all of your questions is because its a team game. in 1v1, you have to use your mp to build infantry. if you dont, youll get overrun. in large team games, a player can get by with very few squads while he fast techs/builds caches/drops fuel/ etc.
rushing a walking stuka, for example, means the okw player builds the mechanized tier first. in 1v1s, a lot of players like to start with the med truck because it helps their infantry a lot more. in team games, an early med truck is less important. that means in team games they can start converting to fuel right away and get out a fast stuka. thats not even counting if a wehrmacht player builds an early fuel cache.
im a little unclear what your suggestion is based on your last post. you say fuel income should be like 1v1s (and not x4). so for example say a player is getting 20 fuel per minute in a 1v1, are you suggesting in a 4v4, the team as a whole should get only 20 fuel (5 fuel per player per minute)? |
