Thread: US faction able to go at will over population cap (normal?)31 Jul 2014, 21:22 PM most people seem to be missing the point here a bit. building 5 shermans and letting them sit in the base so you can exceed pop cap is obviously only going to happen in a bad game. i assume this is what people are picturing when they say "i need my tanks" the much more likely scenario, which does happen (ive done it many times in 3v3s), is to have multiple tanks out on the field and a few infantry squads at the base. you cant reinforce due to pop cap, so you pull tanks back just out of sight, hop out, reinforce, then hop back in. youll typically only get to 105-110 pop from this unless you have a ton of infantry. this is slightly unfair, but i wouldnt say its game breaking. i think the fixes to prevent this would do more harm than good, such as attaching more pop to crews or not allowing units to recrew abandoned vehicles/weapons when over 100 pop. i think both sides of this debate are exaggerating though. this can be abused in higher skill games, but it also isnt as big a problem as some are making it out to be. Thread: Kubelwagon Idea's and Possible Improvements31 Jul 2014, 20:24 PM i think the problem with kubels is the way suppression works. a suppressed squad cant do much damage to a normal mg squad because suppression lowers accuracy by 75%. it also raises cooldown and reload times, but thats much less significant. the lower accuracy alone cuts the dps to only 1/4. the problem is, kubels are vehicles with a target size. this pretty much negates the entire accuracy penalty, and squads will still hit a kubel almost 100% of the time. having 4 armor helps this, but doesnt change the fact that a suppressed squad and an unsupressed squad deal almost the same amount of damage to the kubel. Thread: Comparison of Kat & Stuka after heavy usage31 Jul 2014, 20:14 PM the things people will bitch about... 40 damage on a deflected hit, yet at most, youll maybe hit a tank with 2-3 shots. a whopping 120 extra damage, and thats if all 3 of those shots deflected. if they dont deflect, the damage is unchanged. considering stukas aoe pen and the chance of hitting multiple shells on a single tank, extremely minor buff. Previously the 80 damage radius (ie the squadwipe on full health squad) was ~2.65, now it will be 1.5. Or to put it another way, the area of lethality for each rocket is now nearly 70% smaller. This applies to both Katyusha and Pwerfer as their aoe stats are identical for all the stats we care about here. sounds like another poorly written change then, because they said they "retain the same damage profile" In: COH2 Balance

Is it still sqaud wiping, AOR from 4 to 8 how does that impact squad wiping? in the rare case that it hits an entity with 5-8 hp, it will guarantee another death. another effect this will have is any entity under 50% hp has a 10% chance of getting critted and dieing. so now an entity with 45-48 hp can also be critted. before, they had to have <44. pretty minor change. i dont see the point personally. technically, this will increase its squad wiping by a very slight amount though.
