I'll just address this - while what you say is true, up to this point all units in their respective "groups" ("combat" infantry like grens or conscripts, indirect fire units like mortars and artillery etc.) and sides had the same veterancy bonuses. So right now, Assault Grenadiers are the only "combat" infantry which vet isn't following the same path as the rest of units from it's group. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: New units in game files27 Sep 2013, 01:33 AM Right! Stormtroopers are the same as PGrens, but as Urban Assault PGrens have 5 members. No special weapon upgrades for them though. Haven't noticed the other units, since they lacked "MP" after their name, which generally suggest that this unit isn't yet used in MP... at least, until the most recent patches, since both Assault Grens and new howitzer attacks lacked "MP" in their names In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Assault Grenadiers "anomaly"27 Sep 2013, 01:22 AM Assault Grenadiers are kind of "anomaly" in terms of game stats, when it comes to German infantry. And no, I don't mean that they break the early game They get slightly different veterancy bonuses, when compared with normal Ostheer infantry: - at vet2 they get x2 bonus armour (vs x2.25 for most of German infantry) - at vet3 they get x2 bonus damage (vs x1.78 bonus accuracy for most of German infantry) Those changes make them somewhat more offensive oriented, which I guess, fits their theme. But I wonder - why was it done like that, especially when all the other veterancy bonuses are basically the same for all the units of the same type/side? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: New units in game files27 Sep 2013, 01:09 AM If anyone's interested - there are some new units in the patch that we haven't seen yet. They most likely will be used in SP missons packs/campaigns but who knows, maybe they'll show up in MP too at some point (with some new commanders). KV-2 was obviously already noticed, so I leave that one out. Other "new" units are: Panzer III Urban Assault Panzer Grenadiers - basically a 5 man PGren squad, with flamethrower upgrade instead of panzerschrecks. In: COH2 Gameplay

Anyway, found another thing - double check stats for Osttruppen Kar98, cooldown duration multipliers seems to be off. It's when you stack 2x of them that they break down. In other words, if you just use 1x bulletins, they actually get much more potent. I've made some test with German mortar and: 1. Without any bulletins (control test) - works as expected 2. With recruit training bulletin (Mortar auto-barrage fires more accurately) - haven't noticed any major changes in barrage ability, but auto-attacks were very inaccurate and it was quite often shooting itself. 3. With veteran training bulletin (Mortar auto-fire more accurately) - same as before, but even less accurate (from my subjective view) Haven't tested soviet mortars yet, but from what I've seen for Ostheer, I'd recommend not to use those bulletins (even one). Thread: PaK-43 viability in the meta game25 Sep 2013, 18:38 PM Elefant has the same penetration as an SU-85, has bigger range and slightly worse potential DPS (more damage per shot but slower firing speed) - so it's not really a problem with Elefant not being able to kill them, just that Elefants/Panthers are just pretty heavily armoured (and most of soviet tanks aren't).
