As far as I know yes, they're just supposed to be veterans. This is supported by their base stats with MG 34 being very similar to Vet 3 LMG Grenadiers.
In-game Obersoldaten are implied to be Waffen-SS, like Panzergrenadiers they wear SS camouflage. Initially they were referred to as "Honor Guards" but this was cut very late, which is why neither Obersoldaten nor the Announcer refer to themselves by any title.
The name can rarely be heard in idle dialog. If idle Volksgrenadiers are near Obersoldaten they'll occasionally say something like "Stay away from those Honor Guard guys, they are fanatical, crazy."
Of course they are crazy, they took methamphetamine. |
There is a realistic sound mod in COH1 getting real sound recording from real gun, real MG42, real G43, oh that sound, both hurting my ears and making me high.
The background music of COH1 is definitely superior, voice acting, only USF and OKW being inferior, Brits in COH2 is a really well done job. |
Just put a webcam on his screen or a delay stream when he play.
I don't really think it is humanly possible trying to hide a maphack in the tense of the game, in the highest level, with that amount of people watching the game. |
Understood, this ability breaks maps IMO. It limits what mappers can do from the perspective of having flexible design decisions because we cant really use anything that engineers can just destroy with this kind of ability. Its an aility that truly needs to be removed. This is also not a debate, its an unfortunate fact.
Not a single person that I'm aware of condiders the maps much, if at all, when considering faction design decisions. This is to no ones benefit.
If you guy even take that decent abilty away from Brit, I think I will never choose Brit again.
You can always did the same thing with tanks, ATG , screck/zooks, you won't like a shot blocker in front of your ATG / MG. |
Not only did Coh2 remove the decision making between capturing a point and fighting in combat (Especially with support weapons), but Sandbag spam on mainlines also removed the decision between taking optimal cover and capturing a point. Without getting bogged down in the specific faction balance, I think it's pretty clear the current implementation of mass spam sandbags while capturing points is not good for the game. The build time increase was nice and prevents the spam in the early game capping of neutral strat points but doesn't really effect more important points with longer cap times or when an enemy point is being decaptured and captured.
Putting Sandbags only on Engineer type units would see sandbags less prevalent and create a lot more tactical depth around cover and capturing. Sandbags were accessible in Coh1 but they couldn't be spammed while capturing points so they were much less used and more tactical. Mass sandbag spam also makes Flamethrowers too important.
I can't tell if you watch/cast/play enough COH1, sandbag spam happens a lot in Wehrmarct and very crucial to prevent blindly Rifle hugging into Volks.
I always land a sandbag before capping vital points, make sure all 5 dudes of Volks being protecting when capping it. Also happens in Infantry Company, only one BAR Rifles squad with Sandbag able to buy more time before it was recapture.
And anyone said nasty Sandbag demo/goliath?
Back in COH2, this sandbag nerf screw up Brit Tommies a lot, without Green cover they are trash. |

By the time kv1 hits the field pretty much all anti tank options (maybe not jadg or ele but would you use them in 1v1?) So dealing with it isnt that big of a deal. Ost can judt deploy additional pak, gets shrecks, hell even get stug while okw more or less can do the same. Kv 1 cant really challenge panthers and tigers by itself. I feel like the issue has been someone managing to rush it and reign supreme for moment as kv1 can be daunting if you are not prepared for it.
So you need an extra additonal Pak40, some additional screcks, just to counter a single KV1, feels balanced?
Try playing against it with a single Pak, some Grens and a P4 or even 2 P4, a usual unit combination of Ostheer in that timeslot. See how your P4 struggle.
Big cats do not arrived yet.
TBH, that tank can't do shit to big cats. |
No, what I'm trying to say is there was a case of a novice maphacker that got so used to see enemy mines in the square or circle size that he was able to perfectly dogde all of my OKW teammate but because the riegels mine was so rare and hard to spot so he didn't see it => he stepped on it.
It was funny because we know from the first 3 mins he was hacking so the whole game was playing in a way to bait enemy into exposed themself (And yes, we send it to Sturmpanther and he got banned)
Because there are noob and there are veteran maphacker:
1) we have case of idiot that just straight zoom into our sniper, tell their mortar to drop right onto MG that haven't fire and hide inside fog of war v.v.v => We call them dumbass maphacker and these type of cases are very easy to report
2) We have case of veteran maphacker knowing that there's a follow camera button in replay so they play with advanced information and hide it pretty well. (Example: like in our current case of, he ceased fire right when my counter sniper come out, he always keep sniper out of counter-sniper range but he was an idiot because he look for unit through FOW and it was weird)
I see, but there is an argument such a high level player, maphacking is actually giving much more information in the screen and if he tried to hide it, it taking much more effort doing so, then the maphack becomes a distraction. |
Sorry, I do not want to provide those file name, I still have them in my computer to check if it's working with the COH1 Live version and yes, it is still working.
I don't use or know about the COH2 cheat works though but from our previous COH2 maphack cases and follow cheater camera, we think it should work the same way as COH1 (Not sure about implent way)
P/S: Funny thing is because I mostly play Elefant doctrine and use Riegel mine (Which is 3 sticks that is hard to see), we have cases of maphacker just go straight on them because they couldn't see it (More like they are so use to see circle or square mines)
Again, sorry for Bad Englando
What do you mean by "we have cases of maphackers stepping into your Riegels"?
Are you accusing people cheat just because they stepped into your Riegels unawared?
By the way I just failed to understand if there is maphack, there is follow camera system in replay, how can you NOT spotting a maphacker? |

Now go away and let adults talk.
So T-34/76 is a weak ass gun/tank too, by The Ministry of Katitoffism Truth.

Weak ass gun my ass, it can pene even heavy tanks. I agree you need RNG, but still happens. At the moment it needs to lose extra hp or damage reduction bonus.
Indeed it is a weak ass gun, if you taking Jagdtiger Pak43 as reference, or taking Katitoffism logic as reference. |
