Did you ever thought about that it just looks like CoH2 would be such a mess, because they bring out constant patches?
They deliver a better support for CoH2 to constantly fix issues in Game.
vCoH didn't had that support and through this there had been less patches per month/year. That's the reason many old players think that vCoH hadn't been such a mess ...

Flamee already said good points. It really much depends on the situation. Especially as an ally you should chose the retreat option ways more often in the early game. Because their infantry CAN be ways more weaker, especially vs OKW It also depends really much onto experience -> (hmm ok i got a conscript in this position and the enemy got a grenadier there, if i move there i could harass him and force him to retreat) - thoughts like this - you also have to know the pros/cons of every single unit to choose the right choice Rushing onto units in cover is always a bad choice, so try another way or instant retreat, that is a simple example but as soon as we hit the more difficult way: 1 to 2 relation, but you got obersoldaten and the enemy jsut 2 conscripts, but he got PPsHs on both and is onto mid range, but there is no cover between, and going on, like i mentioned in the example before So, long content short, earn the experience inGame and otherwise follow the rule, better retreat too soon as too late. A squad wipe is ALWAYS a heavy disadvantage, which you shouldn't risk and a complete recover is always possible, even if it could get hard In: Strategy Desk |
Thread: Time investment for playing competitively? 29 Aug 2014, 06:38 AM
I guess most of the points about that topic had been said and it's done ^^ 2 games per week are at least not enough, if you are a beginner to CoH. The reason is simple, you have to get a good knowledge of the game (to play competitive): e.g. my enemy (US) is building a AA HT, how do I counter him (as OKW), which is the average time a tanks appears by this and that faction (I have to know it in 1v1 and 2v2, because the times are different). All this facts you are just learning through playing by yourself at the beginning. You have to train, to take care about "all that many" information on the screen at once (Ress, fighting units, Map, Enemy, etc), to still make clear that you got an overview at all. I would recommend (as a beginner) to play 2 games per day, just to get to a descent level, as well as: - watch and analyze your replays - watch Replays/stream of high skilled players -> I would recommend a stream, because through this you can see their micro and watch them playing during a match - Discuss and read in forums - Take a look onto the changelog, when new appears - Read guides onto CoH2.org, they are written by experienced players - Train, train and train Many of the higher ranked players got vCoH experience (I personally had been playing vCoH since release and that helped a lot in CoH2). So if you want to play competitive you have to invest a lot of time you fill this gap of experience. You should also focus onto a mode at the beginning (1v1 or 2v2) and then try every faction in that, to get a detailed overview about them. Joining a Clan can also help really much, if they do weekly training, special Replay analyse sessions and all this stuff But you also have to ask yourself, do I want to invest that much time in CoH2? Or do I want to stay a "normal" gamer and playing all my games with the same time investment. Because both is not possible, if you are a working person. In: Lobby |

Thread: Bazooka-useless?24 Aug 2014, 19:21 PM
It always depends on the situation if zookas are useless. In words: Against light vehicles up to light tanks (like the P2) it can be a real serious matter for them and if you combinbe two squad with them or 3 zookas the enemy has to take care of this vehicles. Against mid tanks it another way. Its true that you shouldnt use it as ur main AT against them, BUT if you are walking around with zookas squads it means for the enemy to pay more attention for his tanks, especially when you are flanking him and hitting him into his rear armor. Additionaly to the more micro the enemy has to use, the zooka can also work as a great finisher, if you just appear behind a e.g. close to death P4 Against heavy Tanks its most of the time totally useless, because under heavy tanks we count e.g. the (Jagd-)Tiger and they got a too heavy armor to be penetrated through the front armor and jsut in some cases they get penetrated through the rear armor. Here you need M36 Jacksons or the US AT gun. But against all types of vehicles it matters that you flank the enemy! |

Thread: OK West Late Game Tactics ?30 Jul 2014, 16:43 PM
The OKW Panther got a slightly better accuracy, between 0.05 to 0.1 more to be exactly. A good late game tank of the OKW matters of the situation. In 2vs2 a Jagdtiger can be a good choice vs many tanks and in 1vs1 it can be a KT, which also deals a lot of damage But if you need fast heavy tank support build the panther! It is pretty good against tanks, with support one of the best late game tanks in Game. There are no regular allied tanks which can mess up with him AND it is 85 fuel cheaper! I would also recommend to use the MHQ abitily to transfer mun into fuel as soon as you got all your upgrads (Schrecks, G43, etc) In: Strategy Desk |
