Thread: How to use the B4 203mm effectively?15 Sep 2017, 02:36 AM Hi guys, I'm trying to use the Counter Attack Tactic Commander. I think it's one of the most interesting Soviet Commanders, you have Shocks, recon, bombing run and even a very solid tank the KV1. The core of this Commander is the B4 203mm, a very impressive gun and I really like the look and the sound of it . But problem is, its pop cap is too high AND it's just too random. The damage it deals is not as consistent as the 150mm gun and since you need 20 popcap when building it, it left you little room to build a strong army late game. So what should I do to effectively use this Commander? Build orders, counter counter-play (such as Stuka), positioning... Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you! In: Red Army Strategies

It's a bit hard when they get two shotted (3 for advanced mediums) from over 1.5x their range. Unless you build a fuck ton of mediums/advanced mediums (like at least 4-5 with other players in support) and pull off an epic combined arms flank against a completely incompetent team, you won't be using armor in that situation. Of course I did. I have won games using Su76s and T34s as Soviet against Jtiger and Elefant and I see people do it all the time, while I have never seen Jagdtiger or Elefant being killed by infantry and AT guns without armor support, ever. And have your infantry do all the jobs and win the day for you against superior Asix armors and blobs of death? Sorry I don't think it's fesiable. In COH2, armor is required to win games, regardless of Asix or Allied. Given equal skill, your armored force would need to be better/stronger than the opponent to win. In: Strategy Desk
Thread: SOV vs. OKW blob12 Sep 2017, 07:44 AM Jump back to quoted post11 Sep 2017, 14:41 PMHven tested m5 with upgrade vs blob, it's trash. don't do it in any case. the only thing working vs blob is dhsk, demos and a counter blob (important to focus a single squad with all yers). there is nothing else. katy can get good result but it's too random. IMO a reasonable number of Su76 with the Barrage ability is pretty good too. In: Replay Reviews
Thread: How to use the IS-2?6 Sep 2017, 05:37 AM As you can see, the IS2 is not a tank counter. It's just a heavier, slower version of the T34-85 with better splash damage and penetrating, but slower reloading speed. Which mean a jack of all trades, master of none tank. So it's better against tanks than the KV-8. You should use the IS2 as a support for your main force, not slug against enemy armor. If no support it can lose to a lone Jadpanzer 4. You can push against enemy infantry but be careful it can go down very fast with schrecks and paks. Really if you want to push an Axis line, better use T34s. At least this small tank have the number and the speed to do so. Sorry for my English! In: Red Army Strategies

Thread: A radical idea to rebalance T-34/7620 Apr 2016, 13:38 PM AI performance: one thing about the T-34/76 is that its cannon and coaxial machine gun kill infantry pretty good if you could get in close range (about the effective range of SMGs), while not reliable at medium and long range. A little buff for accuracy at medium and long range and it would be fine. Oh and change the Vet 1 too. In: COH2 Balance

Especially when facing armor, Cons can oorah and snare them while Maxim can not do anything, at all. And if you're tired of Cons spam or Maxims spam, why don't play with something like 3 Cons 1 Maxim, 2 Cons 2 Maxims, maybe even 4 Cons 2 Maxims or 3 Cons 3 Maxims? Just like Wehr play style in COH 1. It's much interesting and safer that way. For Cons are better when fighting alongside support weapon teams, their all round utility could be used to the fullest. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: T 34s20 Mar 2016, 13:27 PM IMO the only armor Soviet can hope to spam is Su-76. T-34 has its use such as discouraging enemy armor rush, crushing infantry but its main gun performs horribly against infantry that's the biggest problem. You need to move it close to the enemy to be somewhat effective but then it dies very fast. Really, it's better to spam Su-76 then go T4 for Kats than to waste fuel and manpower on T-34.
