If zooka blob is not a valid tactic the neither is the shrek blob people are blabbering about. Sure shrek has more punching power but the zooka has a higher rof and is significantly cheaper.
The point im making however is before , katitof used a shitty strawmen argument , is that giving the volks an AI option doesnt make them suddenly OP.
Schrek blobs have been a huge tactic in the past, and while cheesy and easily countered, is still very effective and still used commonly in everything except 1v1. A pack of six schreks will one shot the vast majority of allies non-doctrinal armor.

No but you see, the point is that you CAN make zook blobs, shrecks can be better and available on cheap infantry, but dual zook riflemen so broken they just amove into your base and kill elefants in 1 hit
Yes, you "CAN" make zook blobs. You also "CAN" build an army of nothing but snipers. That doesn't mean you can actually discuss it like it is at all a viable tactic. |
They either need to be cheaper (manpower wise) or stronger. |
" Look as the current zook/bar rifleblob " right katitof because only allies can have good stuff right.
Zook blob? Are you kidding me.
I almost never see a zook blob, and when I do they are almost always completely ineffective.
Even a blob of 4 rifles with double zooks has trouble taking a P4 down halfway, and it's never worth the amount of AI they give up. |
They are almost identical: Two guys pick up a heavy weapon, rotate it, put it down. Exactly the same, minus the repositioning on the last step that AT guns have once the set the gun down again.
really not sure this is a good base for the argument.
I lost a passive mortar-like team weapon, I would like to know why. Why the LeIG stops shooting at targets in a 360 degree arc after barraging a building while the mortar continues to be useful without me needing to poke at it constantly.
It's not an argument for why it "should" work that way. But that's why it does work that way. The work the same in practice, but since they were programmed differently so they have some differences from that.
Personally I prefer the arc, since it gives the player more visual feedback of which way the unit is facing and who it's attacking. If anything I'd rather the mortars be changed to an arc. |
Why do mortars have a circle and not an arc?
Mortars have their own animations. They are able to turn without unpacking (they just pick up the mortar and put it down).
The pack and leig on the other hand use the same type of animation as the AT guns. Meaning when they turn to fire at another target they have to unpack and set up again in another facing.
The shown arc correlates with the type of animation they use. |
So basically flame DOT's for flamer tanks will be nerfed too right? Or am I reading that wrong?
Yup, pretty much it's all the same mechanic. I suspect that's why the okw hetzer looked like shit, because it was designed with the old DOT in mind.
Infantry was going to have DOT too, but it ended up messing with your own assaults, since your infantry would have to run through their own flames while attacking. |
This is wrong. DoT damage will only affect molotovs, flame nades, incendiary arty and stuff that actually leaves a visible flame on the ground. That will be nerfed. Flamethrower damage output like handheld and vehicle ones will not be nerfed. Aside from damage reduction of kv-8 and croc, of course.
all flame vehicles leave flame dots. Only hand held flamers don't. |
Agreed, and it will never be esports as long as unit performance keeps changing with every patch. I don't wish for CoH2 to become esporty since that has only taken cool stuff away from the game so far.
No the game won't be an e-sport because it's not popular enough. You can't create a e-sport scene through balancing and reducing rng. Competitive players don't magically appear because of consistency.
Popularity creates a e-sports scene. E-sports scenes don't create popularity. At least not until you reach a certain point of popularity coh2 is no where near. |
OKW has the same infantry design as soviets, meaning you get your AI power from elite infantry, not your mainline. They won't do this because they don't want players spamming volks, simple as that.
