I could see the regiel at mines being used a lot more. All in all patch looks great! |
Soviet T2 vs Ostheer MGs still has an equal fighting chance. Mortar Fire WILL force an MG to reposition. The AT gun can still barrage an MG team as well. It is munition heavy, but hey, Ostheer feels your pain. I believe this will encourage more strategic play from the Soviets. Rather than spam conscripts, completely overwhelming a weak MG team, or set up a maxim right in front of an MG...come on. This was a good move. |
I always get a p4 as fast as possible .Then the soviet player buys an su 85.Normally the soviet player will buy a second su 85 if he can not kill the p4 ,so just play defensive and hold the fuel.Do not get t4 .The su 85 is pretty bad against infatry .Hence the soviet will have problems to push. When you have 260 fuel get the elefant which will destroy a su 85 with two shots. The soviet players always underestimate the elefant.
I already used the tactic a few times and it works pretty good.Tips to improve the tactic ?
Vs. a Soviet T3 rush this could get ugly. They'll field t70s and t34s vs your infantry which will totally push you off the map. Maybe you get lucky with a teller mine? Maybe you actually faust and actually hit a t70 with a Pak40. But, by the time you field an elephant, all it takes is one t34 RAM and you're done. But Maybe, just maybe, the cards will play right. That's too many maybes for me. =P |
Shreks melt 85s. Which the soviets have no equivalent.
If you're charging head-on into 85 you just have terrible micro. Learn to flank something with no turret. Or try smoke.
That is true when you hit rear armor. Any other time you're just getting kitted. I think its accuracy or aoe needs to be severely reduced vs infantry. |
Awesome! |
One way to counter this is rushing to t2 building 2 to 3 pious on start and just capping the map. Once u have the scout car out this eliminates the sniper harassment. If your opponent builds 2 m3s, get 2 scout cars. If you already went t1 u should notice the first sniper around the production of your 2nd t1 unit. I try to avoid using MG's vs this strat. Avoid direct confrontation unless you absolutely know you can get a double Faust off without getting kitted. Then get t2 asap n upgrade scout car. |
I agree. Early game focus on getting flamer with munitions. A better option for weapon crews is a flame half track. But, to get this early you cannot use rifle grenades or flame pio. |
I agree that DLC is a good idea for business continuity. As long as the commanders open new strategies without risking balance. Oh, and one more thing, xbox 1. Feel privileged you have a PC lol. |
I've found that the safest thing to do as Russians is to play T2. Get your AT nade, damage the engine, move in with your at gun, cover it with Maxim and guards. If you choose the mortar doctrine, save fuel, you'll have two t34/85 who can essentially disable an elephant tank if one rams. Use your at gun to finish it off and cover it with the other t34/85. |
I find it fairly easy to counter scout cars with flamers for one reason. Map control. It takes the Russian player a decent amount of time to build the T1 building. Don't waste munitions on rifle grenades.
ALWAYS secure a munition point within this time period. Keep your grens moving, and taking points. As soon as you have 25 fuel (usually after 3rd T1 unit), upgrade to T2. If you start getting harassed, just hide two gren squads together in a tight spot to lure the car.
If you can't double faust, DONT. If you have to chase the car, DONT. Reasons being, you won't have 70 munitions for scout car upgrade or you'll lose man power getting kitted. As soon as you lay down T2, build the scout car and upgrade it. Chances are early M3s aren't supported by cons with AT nades, because of fuel/MP limitations (EARLY FIRST T2 ENGAGEMENT). Keep a gren squad (or a pio to repair) with your Upgunned scout car to secure areas/ support it.
Usually the first burst will take out the scout car, this is a big hit to the Ruskies, and if you take advantage of this, the game could be over quickly. Also, MAKE SURE you know a scout car is there, this is a reactive strategy. If you see an Maxim, get a Flame HT instead, but watch out for AT nades and AT Guns. |
