The answer is because it's a video game. The cloaking mechanic exists to give it something to use to escape from enemy armor because it represents a significant investment for the OKW player and it has terrible maneuverability.
I'm pretty sure it exists to allows ambushes, which is what you would expect from a turretless tank destroyer. Not to be an escape tool. If your turretless TD gets flanked by a tank it should be dead, that's the whole point. |
I can't escape from grens with my m3 backspeed - it's too slow. Maybe it's my bad luck again and I'm wrong, ok. What about acceleration time? Is it takes longer to reach maximum speed when you're moving backwards?
Yeah, I think acceleration was nerfed a while ago. But that affects forward speed as well. |
with that logic the rifle nade and the old volks nade should cost 60 muni? since us and brits have to upgrade nades.
Wtf, who is talking about 60 muni? I'm just saying some price difference is fair, I'm not saying making it as expensive as an LMG |
Nostalgia is when you want something one way just because thats how it was in the past, regardless of whether it was better or not. Making BARs a global upgrade, along with some other faction changes to US (buff 57mm for example) is just better than the current system.
That's not the point. He was saying he was playing CoH2 merely because he was nostalgic for CoH1, and I'm saying that that is rather odd. Also, I don't agree the global upgrade is necessarily a better system. It worked great in CoH1, but that's a different game. But anyway, that wasn't my point to start with |
Volks nade throws very fast fyi. If you want them to cost the same make molotovs throw just as fast and we have a deal.
Don't forget the fact that Soviets need to invest MP and fuel to unlock molotovs in the first place. |
Hold your horses, Ketetoff, haven't you read the patch notes, hihihi? The brit sniper will be quicker to react. Aaaand I never said it will kill with one shot the 222. I said "damage". Search the dictionary for the word. Do the other snipers damage their verry counters? Well I believe not.... Aaaand ANYWAY that sniper it's a broken unit, being capable to do damage vs infantry and vehicles alike.
Seriously, if you think the Brit sniper is in any way a threat to the 222 there's something horribly wrong with you. I mean, a T70 may "damage" a Panther, but I don't see that being a problem for the Panther. |
Remember times when M3 was a real threat for all infantry because its speed was equal back speed? It nerfed today and you won't escape from grenadier's faust when moving backwards.
That's utter bullshit. The game engine doesn't allow for different forward and reverse speeds. The M3 is just as fast backwards as it is forward, like all other vehicles in the game. |
You're playing the wrong game if you're feeling nostalgic for vcoh. |
Good idea although you obviously need to consider how much (more) effective they are against infantry; I hear people say they suck balls in the AI role, so this might end up being redundant.
They're not. People just can't get used to the fact that they're actually quite balanced right now, rather than the OP BS they used to be. I still like to build them solely for their AI power. |
OH already is extremely versatile, I don't see why they need this as well. |
