No one said the opposite, but the fact that you release 1 faction shows how many f*cks you give about the state of matchmaking time and people enjoyment of the game.
Also correct me if I am wrong but Brits cost as much as USF and OKW together are they not?
You are wrong.
WFA together was $20, $13 separately, just like Brits.
Why say they don't give a F? There are literally 100's of posts on here that say that Axis were being played not because of late-game OP but because of the sexy kit/bad guys. So based on the community there was no way to predict this.
Along comes a faction with ugly kit (all brit kit is ugly), are the good guys, but they have a late-game OP and now all the low APM folks want to play it before the Axis fanbois tears get it nerfed into the ground. |
Yes I build 2 mgs, secured the church and the left muni. Got 2 pios capping, instantly went for the fuel. Secured it and got another mg. for the middle and left flank coverage. Got t2 and started spamming 222s, I had my first 222 very quickly, in time to counter bren if he had gone for one and the flamethrower upgrade.
Build mg bunker near the left fuel to protect it, got second 222, raped mortar pit, got pak 40, got 3rd 222 wiped squad on retreat, got 4th 222 went for base via long way around.
Meanwhile got panzergrenadiers and CAS to get schrecks out just in case
Result: rape
Buff Brits. |
Yea, I guess your right. I didn't really think of Rangers and especially the paratroopers with RR (mentioned in the previous post). It's been too long!!
I'm being swayed. USF could really use some more unit diversity. I never see paratroopers. Actually, in 90% of games the only damn units I every play against are Rifles, RE, M5s and Shermans.
Basically, I really don't mind no heavy tank if it's compensated by some better AT infantry and mines.
Vet3 on US units meant something. Less on armor than on infantry. But everyone knew to fear vet3 RRs, Rangers and Rifles. The Calliope actually MEANT something. The Pershing was both AI and AT and was at least pretty mobile. OMCGs gave you up to 1300 mp worth of units for 800. I didn't fear vet3 Axis infantry but I did vet3 armor (the vet3 buff was simply too much when you can't "eliminate" the veterancy by killing the unit like happens with US).
A vet3 57mm had huge penetration and much better damage, especially when firing APS. Of course loss of could be great.
Most of what was wrong with US late game was vet3 axis armor, an Airborne bomb-run that cost 250muni and was useless except in very limited situations (like a braindead opponent), and the m10 misfire bug.
What does USF have to compare? Is there a vet3 USF unit that people actually fear? Or are they just threats to be prioritized? |
There is no word in the book of OPness to describe how OP is the british faction atm.
1. to easy to play (place 2 bofors in start game then lie back and relax while building your army as you want).
2. you people complained about KT? Well, introducing the churchill tank. Oh, and it comes with a flame variant too, guaranteed to wipe all your army by itself, at guns, tanks and infantry. That unit is hilarious. Churchill, being the equal of Tiger and IS2 when it comes to resilience and armor. This is becoming a SF game.
3. British off maps. I think they are the best in game, aren't they?
4. The british sniper. That is a joke. A bad one.
....aaaand so on.
But there will be changes, and the faction will be probably nerfed to the ground. Like they used to in the past, no news here. But yeah, I never saw such an OP and unbalanced faction untill now in COH2. Great job Relic. As expected.
Someone has not been paying attention. |
50 cal, stolen mg42? Those should supress just fine... Not to mention scott in the background would clean house pretttty easy. You tell me a Ostheer unit that has the ability to one shot squads at a distance.
"stolen mg42?"
What is wrong with this statement when discussing faction balance and utility?
Sort of like COH1... How many Axis ever stole a US mortar? |
this faction is overall BAD being skilled or not doesnt justify anything
I won't argue with you. I spent $13 on it and currently have no desire to play it. I won't buy Brits until I know where the faction ends up.
\
I was just countering the usual defenses made for the USF as they are and were.
US has fewer units to choose from and fewer of those are useful. The latest changes have been an improvement. Now the Suart is more useful as is the 50 cal. The Howitzer is not good but it is less of a bad choice than it used to be.
The officers are units, and while "free" they are expensive to reinforce and take up pop. The Lt is a rifle with one BAR, the Capt more utility with the Thompson and bazooka but the old T2 was never picked. The Major? The first two are really just expensive-to-reinforce Rifles and the last an ability, not new units.

lmg 34 120 muni
and this guy is strategist
this game will never be balanced
That was not what he said. He was talking of RE's and that to make them late game effective (they are the "replacement" for costly late-game rifles) they need two BARs, so losing them costs you 120 munis.
So yeah, what he said was correct. Your inference was not, and hence your commentary was off target. |
It might prve true that USF are powerful in the right hands. And perhaps even in greater than 1v1 (though that is doubtful based on the #'s of even the best players).
All of that might be "OK" except it was sold to "regular" players as a balanced faction that was more powerful early game.
Of course if you win too many early games then Axis tears flow (heck, with UKF we see they flow even when they win early games) and the early game gets nerfed. Which is why asymmetrical balance is just stupid.
As a "special flower" of a faction it should have been a free war drop for those to use who wanted to. Relic hurts their reputation by designing something that is only good in the hands of really good players and then charging people $13 for it. Powerful abilities that come a the cost of micro should not come stacked on top of each other. Your "free" officers shouldn't cause to to lose the pop you need in order to build the units they made possible.

You are all missing the point that OP is sure that he fired 10 times, and only two penetrated with units that, for the most part, do 160 damage and those two pens took off 400 each. Then the Croc rolled away and all he lost were the two pak crews. This indicates the unit is OMFG OP and nerf the crap out of everything Brit including the PIATs.
I totally take his word for it and don't need to see a replay. |
LOL! Todays expirience!! Wanted to catch a Crocodile! Prepared 2 paks, shtug and Tiger. Know what? It just came to me in front, burned down paks and got away with more than 50% health! 4 best at weapons made 2-3 shots, all hit the Croc, and only 2 penetrated it! Yes, its ltp for sure.
So you couldn't take down the tank with 2 hits and only got it down to 50% health?
You do realize how silly this sounds?
Yeah, it will burn the Paks, that is about all it can damage in such an engagement. But if you then only got in two penetrations out of three shots then it was well played by your opponent.
Sounds like you were too used to the old "Axis kit super duper/late game cake walk" meta. But so far the brit early and mid game looks kind of meh. That early game is going to have to get buffed when the late game is nerfed.
