i have this (not new) suggestion for the coh2 balance and gameplay forums.
in order to post in these forums, your forum account is required to provide a link to your playercard.
this will make it a lot easier to sort out people who know what they are talking about.
You are arguing that playercard can prove what you have to contribute is reasoned, fair, useful, appropriate?
Someone can be very good at the game and not know how to balance it. Likewise someone can be mediocre, or even only play one side, and have useful things to add to the discussion.
Requiring playercards is only adding a tool so people can use it to beat over the heads of those with whom they disagree. Better to use the arguments.

and where is my v2 so i can nuke london while playing versus brits?!?!?
still i would like to see volks reworked, they were mostly given automatic weapons because they require much less skill than bolt action rifles
Is that really the case? I don't know. It cuts both ways. Automatic fire allows for "spray and pray" usage but automatic weapons are more complicated, requiring more training in the cleaning and maintenance, and such tactics are harsh on ammunition supplies.
More likely they were given what was available (both weapons and ammunition). If there were a surplus of pistol ammunition it makes more sense to give them mp40s and let the veterans use the rifle ammunition for the K98s and MGs. |
Volks that cost more than battle-hardened Grenadiers? And none of the two has a Stiehlhandgrenade? (since yesterday the regular volks nade was removed again!)
What kind of a ww2 game is this?
I know, balance above realism, blah blah... but some stuff is just so obvoiusly wrong that it becomes an immersion-breaker. I really dislike the philosophy Relic has concerning these things. Makes the game loose some of its character and appeal.
At least the regular volks grenade should return. I've had enough of Relics pyromaniac fictional additions (incendiary nade)
Best not to get your panties tied up in knots over this.
Don't compare the units to anything realistic or else you will drive yourself crazy. The list will drive you completely mad. (How is it the Germans have all the powerful air support? How is it they have ANY air support while the US has little? Same question with regards to artillery. How come they get a Kubel and HT while the US, an army that barely walked anywhere, doesn't even have the ubiquitous jeep? Where are all the US mortars? Every airborne and armored infantry platoon had its own mortar section, and every infantry company had a heavy weapons platoon with 3x60mm mortars. Every Infantry battalion had 6x81mm mortar teams with a Jeep and trailor for each one.)

Ah the luchs complaints. They're not wrong. Not at all. They're quite right. The complainers I mean. A 6 min luchs sounds like a nightmare.
Just imagine how ost has been coping vs USF stuarts. (Y'know, cause both luchs and stuart cost 120fuel to push out and both have 400hp and are excellent squadwipers).
Too bad the Volks have to wait for the grenades and shreks to be unlocked like the USF do, and then run back to their base and walk tot the other side to pick them up... and.....
Oh wait..... |
Also RoTR...
On topic i can assure you all 200 % that the squad bunching is becasue of to make animation look cool instead of actually facilitating the gameplay...or like many said that the programming in essence engine is terribly done, relic would have been better of licensing unreal engine 4
Squad bunching is a game design choice and in a way very much because the players asked for it.
Prior to this the squads would spread out. But that often meant at least one man wasn't behind cover even though you wanted them IN cover. This lead to a lot of squads getting pinned despite reaching cover because Ivan or Klaus were standing away from the wall. So the code was changed so they would all seek cover even it is was fairly small. As I understand it from back then, this is a coding issue and so it has to be "either/or". |
Yes, when all 4 players have nicknames like [SS Pz Div 12345 HEIL HITLER FAP FAP FAP] | Playername
I actually LOL'd at this.
So true.
You don't see "Ox & Bucks" or even something as badass as "The Black Watch" ever, even though such units have far longer and more distinguished histories than the hoodlums that were the SS. And you seldom see US units. |
My biggest fear. I like it enough to start a 4vs4 game thinking "yeah it is just for fun" and asking myself later "why did I went in that, just want to leave the game now..."
@ Calliope, refering to that? But it doesn't change anything, I had more fun before the brit when Allied weren't in favor as well but the game wasn't ISG/Mortar meta.
I recently tried coming over to COH2 from COH1 and I got that same feeling. Less so mortars but every game felt like it there were friggin' ISGs everywhere, like there was no other option than to flood a portion of the map with ISGs on top of med trucks covered by flak trucks. One specific low apm strat that you have to execute your counters against.
It's like the COH2 version of Scheldt except it is unavoidably in automatch because of meta. (All COH1 players know the cancer that is Scheldt.) |
Currently they cannot be queued with SHIFT. They would be more useful if it would be possible to queue them instead building one at a time.
THIS.
That would make them even more usable than a shorter setup time. (Though both would be great.) |
you remind me of a special copy pasta, are you the origin poster of it?
"What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo."
its from 2010 maybe you remember
No idea who wrote this, but I have known personally (friends and family) a number of people who have been in special forces of some type or another (Ranger type through Delta Force types). The "real thing" never spoke like this. Never. The more they did, the more they knew, the less they talked about it.
On the other hand, I also have met types who spoke like this. Invariably they were NOT the real thing. |
Oh ok 4v4.... Nm then can't take anything u say seriously now "dude".
Way to mark yourself an a$$. OP was gracious.
Stay classy! |
