The worst of both world. the sight restriction work with normal off map because they are powerful and not affected by range. One strike is normally enough to kill anything caught in its area. on map firing into FOW (normally) work because of FOW penalty, and relatively low alpha strike. The british base 25 pounder combined the worst of both type without any real advantages. It's just inferior off map. In: COH2 Balance

Since veterancy bonus are usually a percentage bonus, veterancy on stronger unit is more powerful hence the higher requirement. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Jackson Overperforming24 May 2018, 04:46 AM sherman, p4, cromwell, t34 all have 640 hp. tank gun usually deal 160 damage. hence medium tank are four hit kills jackson, with 480 hp, is a three hit kill. the puma, with 400 hp, is still a three hit kill. a 80 hp puma is still a living puma. and people don't usually put their respond inside of the quote box. So instead of focusing what went wrong, try to focus on how to fix it. Which is, as you stated, giving the jackson the same weakness as the firefly: slow speed and maybe slower turret rotation. Sounds like a fun challenge, I'll do it for our next 2vs2 game. The USF doesn't need to turn into the same brute force faction as the okw. and the flak ht and puma are pretty survivable even into the late game. The smoke is one of the best ability in the game. Thread: Jackson Overperforming23 May 2018, 05:34 AM buffing the jackson's hp was the wrong buff. Tank destroyer like the stug, jp4, su85, firefly, and jackson need critical vulnerability to keep them from being overpowered. For the stug, su 85, and jp4, that vulnerability is their lack of turret. for Firefly that vulnerability is speed (slow turret speed, slow chassis speed, slow reload). This make the Firefly vulnerable to flanking despite its turret. The Jackson's main vulnerability was low HP, since it had both speed and turret. The jackson can't really be flanked like the other tank, so to counter it you just get in range. Buffing the Jackson's hp break its design, similar to the damage done by giving USF mortar. The jackson should have been given smoke and a size buff (decrease). This increase its survivability at long range duel, but keep its survivability at close range relatively untouched. The jackson should essentially be a Puma with a bigger gun. I'm sure people have used the puma before and wished its gun was better to keep up with the medium and heavy armor. In: COH2 Balance

Jackson should force you to invest in Shreks, Pak, or Panther for example. You shouldn't just be able to spam P4's and destroy everything. So it's a no from me. in other words. So I'd say your answer is a hard no. the flame nade was added to the volks as part of the okw reddesign, and the HE nade predated the flame grenade. Back then the leig was absolutely awful against garrison, but now its destructive capability is on par with a regular mortar. the main reason to not change it back is just that coh2 is a pretty old game by now. Now with that doctrinal version of volks, they're effectively locked in for EOL. wouldn't it make more sense for the same doctrine unlock that grant flamethrower to sturm also give flame nade to volks? While the FF time come out even, rounding the jp4 time mean you artificially inflated the time to kill for the jp4. This is misleading at best, outright lying at worse. Here's the actual time without rounding: (including fire/ready aim time) FF time to kill is 12.375 secs (12 second without aim time) jp4 time to kill is 12.11 - 14.54 (11.61 - 14.04 without aim time) average for jp4: 13.325 with aim time, 12.825 without aim time so after all the hype about the amazing FF vet 3, its time to kill a medium at vet3 is still nearly matched by the vet 3 jp4? we are talking about less than a second difference here. This is in addition to the various other defensive bonus the jp4 also get. In: COH2 Balance
