But then why the P4 ausf "J" doesnt follow the same idea? It has 640 as the normal P4.
Same reason why the same gun on different units performs differently and why Zis-3 doesn't outrange LeFH 18
Balance, differentiating units from each other for flavour, or just game design. COH2 is anything but consistent. |
ah rly? u can with bombing run ?
What? Which light vehicle drops bombing runs?
why u want to put it in the Base sector? its a mobile truck
Because it can't get deleted then, unlike an ambulance? |
I've been told this is actually intended. Despite their costs and limitations Tommies are NOT supposed to win even when dug in and being charged frontally. They are not supposed to hold the ground they are supposed to knock out a model or 2 and then retreat, ceding ground and resources. I was told that if other units can't mindlessless charge head on into dug in infantry and win then the assault infantry is UP. The ONLY metric that matters is resources not role. Volks + stgs > investment than Tommies so the volks need to win no matter what. Same with sturms. Of course they will win even harder if used properly or employ any of their buildings but their cost alone means the NEED to win. Even closing across no cover. Head long into defensive infantry in the best cover they can muster. I have this from a credible source
Neat, can we just make them cost 360mp and buff them so they wipe the floor with everything?
|
I mean, since they are on Grens level right now we could just drop their price to 240, shorten build time, buff the Vickers and call it a day. |
The maxim either needs a reduction to 5 men or have its suppression nerfed. There is no excuse for a 6 man squad to have that much suppression with a super fast set up time to boot.
Imagine complaining about Maxims in 2019
On the topic of Soviets, why do people see the need for such drastic balancing measures? why not just roll back some of the changes that made them so strong sine last patch and see where that goes? Just nerf the 7-man upgrade a little (regular reinforce costs? no combat bonus in cover?) and push back meta heavy tanks by 1-2 CPs, and we'll have a basis for something.
No need to throw an entire faction under the bus. |
I guess what we've learned is that infantry killing MGs frontally head on is fine, and UKF is balanced an in no need of buffs at all.
Carry on lads. |
Having friends OP, plz nerf friends. |
Honestly, UKF feels like Ost, like worse Ost to be exact
Infantry Sections are like Grens, only more expensive, worse on the move, and/or out of cover (i'm not sure if they that much better even with cover bonus) IS only start working when you pump them full of fuel, mp and munitions (and they still won't have a snare)
UKF gets a T0 Vickers for 260mp, which is very much like an MG42, only much worse
UKF has a vehicle based flamer, only worse (yeah, it's cheaper for sure)
UKF gets a sniper, only worse and comes slightly later (sure it can ping at vehicles, and it's fun but thats not why you get a sniper for)
UKF gets a mortar, only it's immobile
UKF has a Centaur, which i guess is close enough to a Ostwind
UKF has a Cromwell, which is like a P4, only less armoured, and has worse AI
Basically I feel like bunch of the UKF roster is "like Ost, but worse", not much worse, but enough.

Obers are an odd duck. They are expensive and come much later than other infantry AND lack utility or AT. The trade off is that if it' has legs Obers will kill it. If you were arguing about falls I'd agree since they have camo and snares, but Obers... That's their only job.
Wait what? So all the butthurt about infantry killing MGs frontally that has been going on since forever
don't apply to Obers? |
So it's your own error, you even admit it yourself, and you make a thread in the BALANCE section? What more is there to add? |
