I find Comet to be in decent sport right now, like it's actually worth getting now.
It's not all that great on its own, but as a 2nd/3rd vehicle it works well. |
By supporting it. That's how. Raks are cheap. Volks are cheap. Mines are cheap. You are paying for long range and no chance to bounce not the ability to go afk. Just because you paid a lot doesn't mean you can stop playing and still win
Exactly, the doctrine even has a perfect tool you need to support the JT: Pfusis have flare for spotting, and a pair of shrecks to keep TDs away
If you can't be bothered to micro your JT or to support it properly then yes, it will go down to a pair of
vetted M36's with HVAP on. They also cost more so there's that.

I really like how in these imaginary scenarios there's always a single, unsupported JT agains multiple allied vehicles, abilities, combined arms etc.
|
This is simply a case of a balanced and solid unit that gets overshadowed by another one... the elefant is busted af because it's in a doctrine with spotting scopes and recon planes. If the JT would have this amount of "easy to pull off" recon support then it would be equally amazing.
Though I still dont understand why you always complain about the HE barrage, it is doing its job against static targets. The only thing I would slightly buff on JT are the veterancy requirements
Don't forget JT has Panzerfusiliers with longer sight range and flares to support, also OKW has non-doc maphacks, just because it isnt "222+scopes" easy mode doesn't mean it has nothing to support it.
I don't understand why the JT and Elefant got constantly nerfed while the anti everything ISU-152 can remain untouched.
Probably because they would Pen always and everything, at 70-80 range and 2 shot any medium tank.
ISU doesnt have the penetration or damage comparable to Ele/JT, and even slower ROF to boot.
Also, ISU has been nerfed, ages ago, way before Ele/JT nerfs came into place, and it just kinda stayed that way.
How is the JT a balanced unit when it's literally never used? I don't know about 3v3 or 4v4 but the JT is completely dead for 1v1 and 2v2. I understand the way the unit is designed is never going to make it particularly suitable for a 1v1 but it should be viable in 2v2 but it isnt't. That's why it needs help IMO.
It's a 4v4/3v3 unit, and its going to stay that way, even when they were borderline broken they weren't used in 1v1s, while turning large team games into pure cancer.
It's a powerful vehicle that can completely turn the game around. |
What, like Rear Echelons getting it for free at vet 3?
Or Pfusis getting it as part of their anti infantry package?
Yeah, I can see how much of a 'trade off' is needed to make those units balanced. Truly, these upgrades taketh as much as they giveth.
Yeah it's not like dropping 35 fuel on it isn't a trade off in itself. |
Honestly, at this poing i feel the best we can do is buff their direct counters (Kubels, Carriers) by increasing their bonus accuracy further, or giving them larger detection radius for cloaked units
Or maybe just increase their target size even more. |
stuff
I'am very chill, thank you very much.
Ok, here, let me repeat for the third time my rational, logical argument, very simple this time:
Pios are more expensive, because Pios are better than CE. Simple, and logical. |
No, it doesn't.
Engies fight better long range which synergizes better with flamer they have. They also lay mines, repair, can be merged into which boosts them, they have demos, can sweep, build, and repair. To me there is not much difference here. This is a thread about heavy tanks - it is just cheaper to have 2 Sov engies repairing an IS2 plus add some doctrine repair abilities and have it on the field sooner. You use the argument of looking at the whole faction only because you don't have any logical arguments here. I'm looking at a faction as a whole and it makes the difference - repair speed and the costs it involves. Much cheaper and allowing sov to preserve their tanks better. No bias just logics.
Oh yeah, that awesome 2,5 long range DPS CE squad has is so good and it synergises SO well. It it so MUCH better than having actual useful CQC DPS that can force off team weapons.
Let me repeat myself, remove close range DPS, additional sight range, sandbags, bunkers and Pios can cost 170, shit, let's make it 160, deal?
Also, I'm using the "argument of looking at the whole faction" because you cleary ignored darkarmadillos post, where if you account for the cost of teching/cons/MG you are 50mp behind Wher.
EDIT
Actually, you know what? you are right, if we ignore 99% aspects of the game and focus ONLY on the ability to repair vehicles, then yes, CEs are better.
Sadly, we won't actually ignore 99% aspects of the game when balancing is concerned. |
Overcomplicating things is sometimes not good. 30 manpower is just more. If they die it is cheaper to quickly build more of them, especially if you have more tanks on the field. The story about grass just doesn't make sense as I play all armies, including Soviets and playing ostheer is the most difficult. I keep pinpointing why that is the case. Most of the stuff you repeat are myths. Crews are a great idea but made the game almost impossible to balance. Initially USF tanks were really squishy - thy had crews, accuracy on the move, stock smoke, crite repairs, etc instead. Players complained and their raw stats got buffed - quite sensibly. But this made, for example, sherman a good opponent to ostheer panzer 4 - especially if you look at the price difference. Crews and all other abilities remained and it is sometimes ridiculous to pay 200 manpower for a pio and look how a jackson can be crit repaired without any additional costs.
Because comparing units in a vacuum, without looking at the rest of the army works, right?
But if you want it simple: Pios fight better, see more and build more stuff. Take away their close range DPS, longer sight range and bunkers, and they can cost 170.

Panthers range would probably have to go down too.
Oh yeah, definitely, 45 range max
In other news, mrgame2 just removed Ele,JT and ISU from the game. |
