I used to go Elite Troops; use Stormtroopers as back flaggers and flankers, then shore up my G43 Grens to overwhelm. Stormtroopers, in my opinion, are a bit squishy and a high risk unit.
I actually really like Defensive Doctrine with Ostruppen right now. I have a pair of Ostruppen roaming around quickly building bunkers for area denial, whilst I'm fast teching for a P4. Truppen have fausts that can disable light armor.
They are very squishy against assault units, particularly assault engineers and brand spankin' new assault tommies.
Your enginneer, after he lays down a med and repair bunker can now be dispatched to lay mines down. |

My question is: after you upgrade your Ostruppen soldiers with the MG42, what do they compare to in terms of vs. units? |

Honestly, .50 Cal should be a call in like DShk.
MG teams should've been based on the .30 M1919. Fewer units (3), performs somewhere in between a Vickers and an MG34. Longer times between reloads. Performs better as a faster, mobile MG rather than the typical emplaced MG.
I think the .50 is the worst MG team in the game, or at least tied with the Maxim. |

I think the Stug III Ausf. E is garbage. You're supposed to use it against static infantry and buildings, and its bad at both. Along with a static gun and weak armor, it has absolutely no use. It might be way better if it had a flame projector instead of that goofy assault gun. |

No ethics involved when on any side, you can throw flame on people.
Atrocities have been committed in all wars. In WW II, I can point to the Battan Death March, Dresden, Pearl Harbor, what the Soviets did on the Western Front, what the SS did in the occupation of Poland, etc., etc.
There is no right part in murder. The idea there are 'Rules of War'; in which one form of murder is somehow morally justifiable to another is ludicrous.
Personally, I had a great Uncle who went MIA as an officer in the Waffen SS during the Poland invasion, and I had a grandfather who fought in the Philippanes as a Marine, and my stepgrandfather was gravely wounded at the Battle of The Bulge when a Sherman tank right next to him. He died of old age with six pieces of shrapnel still in his back (they dug out about 20 pieces). He could barely walk, but he was an electrician for 30 years and never took a dime of VA money.
The point being, that all of these men were asked to do a difficult job and they did it. With that job came certain responsibilities and consequences.
My favorite book on the matter is All Quiet On The Western Front. Its set in WWI, but was written by someone who was there, and in my opinion, one of the greatest fictionalized accounts of war I've ever seen. There was a movie that was made with the same title starring Ernest Borginine.
In conclusion, I don't think there really is a ethical consideration if you're just fantasizing about being a commander of a military and enjoy out thinking a rival player. If that was the case, chess is racist because a white army is fighting a black army, and the white army gets to go first. xD

There was a time when the Ostwind was way OP, but now with of several buffs, just like Assault Grens, the Ostwind got left behind.
I agree with the idea that it should take on Light Tanks and suppress infantry way better. |

Cons can take Volks STG and Strums with PPsh at close range. Oohrah 10ft from the enemy unit and spray them until they are dead or retreat.
Though nowadays, with Soviet Shock Troops being so strong, there is hardly a reason to have Conscripts with PPsh, when shock troops are better, sans AT snare. |

On the assault package, I'd like to see white phosphorous smoke grenades instead of the standard nade.
The opel truck could have a weapon rack upgrade for G rifles and MG42's for Volks, Strums and Obers.
If they insist on the ISG firing those slow incendiary rounds, make it cheaper. |

I agree; eliminate the Sector Assault call in.
