I certanly agree with vipper about unit benchmarks, and objective criteria. Many people tend to make the mistake of use over performing as an opinion, but as others do, it just says it is doing too well for what is meant to.
Overall, the sum of UPs and OPs (also design and oportunity) tend to define a faction difficulty, performance and people enjoying playing with it. That's a hard formula, but an existing one nonetheless.
There should be a simple logic to follow to determine unit over performing, as example okw jli. Simply nerfing them was enough to level the commander and the faction also. That is such a big deal, a whole faction should not rely as much on a single unit, with a single specific role. There must be at least 2 options to choose, even if that makes a lot harder to balance the game. Otherwise the game becomes predictable and based in raw brute force, applying the same method over and over again |
Counter counter point: Combat engineers are extremely OP. They are the sov’s only way to build base buildings and tech up; they sweep mines; they repair; they can upgrade to flamethrowers; they plant mines; aaaand you start with one... no wonder we see them every game with a sov player! OP as hell! (/s if it wasn’t obvious)
Lol you caught me good on this one, when I finally read the /s I was relieved.
Anyways, imo guard are good but not OP. I just layed a logic argumentation
Pdf. Not many people give that much love to CE comrades... they actually lead you to victory |
Wasn't talking about croc+firefly, as that has nothing to do with a thread about the kv1 and the standard Churchill...
Croc follows the same design as churchills but with a little of balance with regards of its specialty. Croc+firefly it's the worst case since crocs clone the churchill gun, then copies its "slow but heavy" design. If you can tackle that, a single churchill is easy cake.
I still demand an answer other than "okw has jp4". I would prefer to read "I dont care about okw" at least that is honest |
...
I mean 50>35. If you spot for them rather than just solo cloak creeping the Churchill still has to drive up to it. But OKW also has jp4.
I would really like some of this theory experts show real footage of the highly convoluted solutions they propose.
Other than that I've see no real answer to Croc+firefly |
Sure, but that's true of vehicles in general. If you let your opponent amass too many and you don't build the units to counter them, you lose.
That's a basic fact of the game, not a balance issue.
Of course, and I completely agree with you. But for some reason I hardly can explain, churchills and kv1 are better at getting to that no return point.
Sure they are expensive enough.
But there is something upside down in their concept. Having one present in the fields actively forces you to fight it, because you dont want them to be amassed. On top of that they are a hard nut to break. Thats 2 stones with one bird. |
Imho, chirchuils tanks are great, I just can't say they are OP, but as other sponge tanks, they always get a 'extra' function rather than the one they are meant. It's the critical mass role. In other words if you are dumb enough to let your opponent get two churchill's, it's almost game over. They both need a royal amount of countering to stop them. Team games can exploit that. Most tanks hardly can achieve that. That's why their gun can't be that good
Other than that the tank is fine. |
That's an L2P issue, situated between keyboard and chair.
Be it build choices or micro or use of units, there's no Magic Brit Bullet for easy wins by picking Anvil.
Rude
Since when are you allowed to bully others katitof like? For serious, you started using irony to debate a possible balance issue and after vipper explained his point, you just level it up to a L2P.
Maybe he is on. Point and you just can't deny that |
Make all officer units force a retreat to nearby units, OH and allied ones.

First real storm offizier is a good concept but badly implemented. A rework to make it an elite squad or an utility squad rather an aura giving one could be feasable |
Infrared halftrack spotting + leigs, whats wrong with that.
Infrared halftrack is so op, even allies dont even have the same thing.
Axis factions dont get weapons racks, yet that doesn't make them op. Please use some logic instead of plain accusations or opinions.
I agree making IRHT a doc umit for spec-ops and use that unit slot for another unit is the right way. Maybe the 251 with a light AT gun could be used instead, with a performance sub-par of an AEC |
I imagine auto attack being an active ability, that forces the mortar to stay put for xx seconds. Can't be cancelled and can't move until timer ends. Now everytime you want to auto attack you force yourself to hold ground and needs a manual input. Useful for stalled positions, not so useful to combat.
Barrages keep their way of being, fast, short, aoe aimed.
Either that or just remove auto attack. Only UKF will still remain since mortar puts are unable to move
Mortars ht should be revised too, their main advantage is mobility |
