Obersoldaten come soon enough now. The problem are Volks. Their vet5 target size is laughable. MP40 volks get 10 percent on top of their base 0,77 and even then its lower than that of Rifleman and Sections. Just give them something at vet 5, put healing on 4 and remove the bonus vision behind cover.
I would prefer passive healing to be frontloaded to vet 1 for Mechanized builds, or outright removed and the issue of healing for OKW being fixed by making a med HQ more accessible
USF is something else. 120 Munitions is already a fortune and Rifles are not cheap either. Also finding spare munis for all double weapons while you have to take sweepers, smokes, mines is whole another hardship anyways.
It's the same for UKF, and for shocktroopers or guards. Obersoldaten are far from truly powerful from the get to go. You need to take special care of them until vet 2, more so than any other elite infantry
Unless they're Shock Troops because Shock Troops are BADASS.
But really I once tried to have MP 40 Stormtroopers pop Tactical Assault from cover on some Shock Troops and they still got the wipe on me. Real bastards they are, love those guys.
When you finally send them to reinforce: "We'll be back!!!"
MP40 volks are better than people give them credit for.
In general, all the issues the volks have could be fixed by improving their vet 4 and vet 5 bonus. If they had more RA and accuracy bonus they would be on par with bet 3 ppsh cons
Really? This is happening, still? I did not think it was still happening. If it is it sounds like a bug and you should report it and go into as much detail of the situation as possible
It's not strictly a defensive tank, its a powerful breakthrough tank that can reliably win a push with just one shot, similar to when the OKW Tiger 1 was OP as fuck a few patches ago, it would roll up and one shot everything. Here the brum isn't as hard to pen as a Tiger but all it needs is to peak, shoot, retreat, repeat and it can do so very, very quickly.
The other tanks that are similar on axis are the Sturmtiger and that is balanced in that it has a long reload, can only fire once before having to reload and is more obvious that a sweating pedofile in a playground, the AVRE is similar.
The mobility and clunky 'issues' are really a problem when it is able to perform like it does, similar to how Ele and Jag not having a rotatable turret and being small isnt an issue due to the damage output and the range. You can see the Brum performing in this video from 4:45 onwards:
That's more typical to a game scenario, none of this statistics and ideal scenario situation that people cruch on. Games are dynamic, full of shot blockers, sight blockers, flanks, arty, pushes and panicks. It's never just a long corridor with a Brum slowly approaching 2 AT guns undefended to which the brum loses.
If you've gone mediums you're screwed because you cant pen it reliably, you can't chase it because its almost always backed up by AT guns and more likely than not, fausts so you are almost forced to wait for (as UKF) Comets and that gives you no advantage at all as you've given up a lot of crucial tank time by the time the comet comes, and whats a good counter to a comet? A Panther and what tier does the Panther come in....
If its to stay as it is, at least allow mediums to pen it reliably and maybe up the health to compensate for this.
The AT gun was moving slow because cloaked, the player used a FOW cheat
A doctrinal ability should not dictate the balance of a stock unit. If that were the case, we could nerf the Brummbar to the ground because Ostheer already has frag bombs to deal with infantry blobs.
But back to the point: I don't have any tests or data, but I am fairly certain that only a KV2 can reliably deal with an ATG. A Comet won't wipe the ATG from range 20-40 without getting hit hard himself. The phosphorus can deal some damage, that is true though. A Brummbar can do it though. Usually two shots are sufficient. The main point however was that you cannot reliably counter the Brummbar with anything else than a TD. Mediums are unreliable, ATGs will heavily bleed you or get wiped and bazookas are probably the worst thing to get in this case.
All of this applies to the KV-8, with higher armor, health and slightly worse mobility, but with a turret, and the kv-8 can't "miss". I don't see how the Brummbar countering team weapons (if they are at range) makes it OP
