cost effective? if u want "cost effective", use all range weapon mp44
mp40 dps is not low, so what do u want? buff more dps? make them sprint?
Thompson is best, i agree
but thompson is too expensive and "not good cost effective" Compared to ppsh cons u said(no RA bonus idiot airbornes and have no utility skill poor expensive rangers, 90 muni 4 thompson or 70 muni 2 thompson for cav)
is it trash? no
MP40 also not trash
I mean, I actually think volks with MP40 not bad but Ass Grenadiers are fucking garbage. So I think it's not the weapon, but the unit.
If penals are "elite infantry" then so are Rifles, who have pretty much exactly the same dps curve, better vet and weapon upgrades and arrive even faster on field...
If you're losing to penals, rifles must completely roflstomp you and be like, most op inf in game, because they are not only elite infantry, but also T0.
Since you keep repeating like a broken record that cons should be balanced with grens on mind, that means you are also in full support of direct upgrade for mid and late game to mirror grens scalability through LMG.
Elite Infantry is specialized in doing one thing well.
Back then, Penals were a breakthrough anti-infantry infantry (lol), they had flamethrowers and satchels ti do to the hard work of penetrate the line destroying bunkers and eliminating garrisons. PZgrens are a specialized infantry as well, starts as a anti-infantry that can change to an anti-tank. Obers anti infantry and so on. USF and OKW don't have elite infantry, so its normal to both rifleman and tommys fill both roles.
The problem is now they changed penals role, now they are more appeal to be really the main infantry. They have both versatility and specialization. So there is no need for conscripts versatility.
Also slightly increasing mid range DPS from basically non-existant =/= assault rifle profile.
Assault rifles still have the advantage of having decent mid and long range DPS. Even though the PGrens STG44 has way more close range DPS as well.
It would be nice if the MP40 did a bit more damage in the 10-15 range as it currently does next to nothing. And the 0-10 range DPS is not high enough to make up for that.
And/or a significant BP2/3 upgrade that allows them to scale with Allied infantry.
Actually they could do this to almost everything, Riflemans needs more mid range damage than close range damage, Bars, PPSHs, MP40s and so on.
Shouldn't Conscripts be the mainline while penals the elite infantry, like Grens/PzGrens or Volks/Obers?
At least is what the description says.
I can't imagine a bunch of criminals being the mainline infantry of any army.
Reduce cons cost. Next patch cons get nerfed bcos they become too cost effective. Then cons get cost reduction again. Repeat loop until cost reaches 0 or cons get removed from the actual game.
I think the problem is not the cost-effectiveness of cons, but the HIGH cost effectiveness of Volks that no one can beat.
Volks are 250 mp that can beat cons in almost every engagement possible and still having faust and grenades without upgrades (flame nade that have more range and fire fast than molotovs), build sandbags and having weapons upgrades. This is insane.
Actually cons vs Ostheers are not bad, but vs OKW they are useful just to feed Volks veterancy.
The funny fact is that JLI can actually defeat Pathfinders with BAR upgrades in almost any distance and situation.
The following video covers four different cases;
1. JLI hugging into 1BAR Pathfinder with light cover
2. JLI with light cover vs. 2BAR Pathfinder with heavy cover at Long range,
3. 3vet JLI hugging into 1 BAR 3vet Pathfinder with Heavy cover
4. 2BAR 3vet Pathfinder and 3vet JLI CQC Situation
Most situations are very ideally bad for JLI, but JLI defeats pathfinders very well.
JLI is obviously a long-range combat specialist, but even good enough at assuming a hugging situation using like CQC specialists.
JLI is clearly a unit designed with CQC weaknesses. However, in practice, JLI is not weak enough in CQC, and it becomes even more serious if it is a long-range combat.
In reality, If not ideal, the JLI is much more powerful with the help of utilities such as sprint, booby-trap, medic kits, and camo first strike bonus.
This unit is obviously OP. There are often people who tell a biased story here, but in any sense, it's no denying that there is a problem with JLI.
Interestingly, the JLI has a single weapon slot when it is repeatedly engaged with the USF, so a combination of BAR + JLI is often born.
this close the contest, JLIs are still overperforming at least
