You shouldn't require vet to make a unit usable.
I'd sooner take away retreat, and make it's camo ambush camo that doesn't allow it to move but increases its range and accuracy attacking out of camo.
I like that.
I still think IRHT should just be changed to have the same detection radius but detect only on the minimap, that way it still provides really useful intel (especially for costing next to nothing) but at least this way you have to have half a brain to use it. And it should get one shot by AT seeing as it just works through walls and stuff anyway (and again it's dirt cheap). |
Last time I played Fallschirmjäger the squad died while airdropping into a single tree.
That "feature" needs to be fixed for any airborne unit. It sucks.
I had an airborne squad die on landing in a road somehow. I was a litle mad. |
All panthers should have 0.75 moving accuracy in compensation for its puny range and poor ai performance.
Lol.
More range than mediums is puny and 3 mgs is poor ai performance. Still has more range than comet, more health than comet, and better ai than comet. |
Well thanks for the warm welcome
I think their greatest problem is their RA. Maybe giving them a RA buff rather than a 5 man squad can solve it.
And Wehr falls would be interesting since Wehr really lacks the "elite" infantry for close-mid range combat (IMO)
Wait but that's literally pgrens. |

but then he just made another one since it cost nothing
Yes, actually. I was happy until I realized that I had taken a handful of volks' worth of manpower. |

I believe it was Derbyhat who suggested that it should just be changed to passive minimap revealing (like partisan spy network or overwatch passive) in the same radius and have the on-field maphacks removed. Seems fair to me for 200mp 5fu; it would still give excellent intel and the thing costs less than an ambulance.
"just smoke and flank bro"
lol.
I once outflanked and destroyed an IRHT with PIAT commandos because it was genuinely annoying me (and yeah I'm aware how terrible of an idea PIAT commandos are, it was for the meme). |
Ever tried.. a 50 cal? It has the fastest time to suppress both singular squads and blobs.
Unless they're in yellow cover lul.
Maybe it's just RNGesus or confirmation bias but it seems to have a really tough time suppressing squads in yellow sometimes. |
@LoopDloop, smart. That would be a good solution. Easy to implement and makes officers less of an investment to your population capacity. +10
IMO if it got implemented USF sidetech manpower costs should go down to like half of what they are now though. That'd still leave them paying the most for healing, nades, and weapon upgrades. |
First, thanks I feel like a lot of folks are just jumping on the 4 man Major aspect of my proposal, which is something I just threw in at the last second and I now regret considering how much it has taken away from any talk of my proposed modifications to the LT and Capt.
I like your idea a lot though, but I don’t know if it can be implemented for two main reasons.
1. The change is pretty radical and will probably get a lot of push back from those who would prefer to see no change or only minor changes.
2. I’m not sure if it can be done mechanically in the game. Because of the nature of how units merge the unit doing the merge is normally “eaten up” by the unit they are merging into, not the other way around. The Captain and Lieutenant doing the merge would also end up making a +1 man version of the regular squad. 6 man Riflemen? Powerful but not too strong if you can only get 1 or 2. But 7 man Paratroopers with 5 Thompsons or 2 M1919A6s or 6 man Rangers with 5 Thompsons or 3 Bazookas. The solution would be to limit the officers to merging with only Riflemen or Rear Echelon squads, but now you’re pretty much back to where you started.
I dunno, it sounds really cool and I’d love to see if it could be done, but I think it would be harder to balance.
Make it an ability that you use on a rifleman squad like the brit command vehicle designation mechanic that gives them the extra model with thompson and abilities, and is limited to one. You could use it out of the tier building after you unlock it. |
well nobody would build it like that as it cost pop too , if it could reinforce at least, but just making it see rhtought for 30 second with a cd it would be fair as it's not permanent and require micro (basically a weaker but free recon pass that doesn't actually let u target thing with off map and gives no LOS bonus)i a way similar to major old recon much weaker but free and more risky
The thing costs 8 volk models and 5 fuel. It really shouldn't have that kind of maphacks period. Losing it is hardly even a liability because it's so damn cheap, and passive minimap sight would already be an excellent bonus. All it takes is a bit of attention to detail and it's almost as good as being able to just see it like in live anyway. The thing is dirt cheap and takes the pop of an ambulance. |
