Believe it or not but win/loss ratios don't mean shit.
If someone half my level can keep me busy for 40 minutes by building a mortar pit on certain maps, even if I eventually win, there is something seriously wrong with the game.
1) level is irrelevant.
2) argument doesn't really hold up because that would mean a lot of things would need to get nerfed. An opponent "keeping you busy" doesn't make something overpowered at all. I could spam mg42s and only mg42s and probably put up a fight for a while, but in the end, a real tank would run you over. You could also put all your manpower into ostruppen or make like 8 kubels and "keep your opponent busy" for a while, but that doesn't make it viable. Or you could make 5 soviet snipers backed up by one conscript squad to snare diving vehicles and probably exist on the map till tanks come out. Doesn't make any of those strategies overpowered. It's worth noting that I would like to see mortar pits changed, probably by reworking and redesigning them, not just making them worse, but they're not broken and not even op IMO, and are definitely counterable, even just by decent amounts of indirect fire. When I play brits, I'd rather make a sniper than a mortar pit 99 times out of 100, and that's what I do.
Hmm, you've been doing this for the last couple of topics now, what is your motivation exactly? Do you have a fetish for me because I proved you wrong or just like stalking me from your mom's basement or something?
Let's settle this like men, or whatever you identify as.
He's been doing this forever to everyone. Don't take it personally.
I agree about the MG34 hitting the field too late to be effective.
As for the. 50, well since it doubles as a soft vehicle counter it's price and research is sort of justified.
Replace it with a 30 cal, for which there is already a model for in the game, just needs animating, and making it early access could definitely work without it being OP.
Yeah t0 access to .50 would probably be too op. Does usf really need another weird neutered team weapon though (@81mm mortar). I think making volley fire better/usable would be a better alternative, since RE spam isn't really a problem and they are easily the worst starting unit anyway.
why all new changes for okw is almost nerf, what is this Allies bias or zionist lobby ?
Well if you cherry pick that way sure, it looks bad. You didn't list any of the positive changes to the units in question or the faction as a whole either. Let's go through here:
Most of the pops you listed were too low and changed for good reason. Mg34 4 pop (seriously?), pfusies 6 pop (rifles are 7, 4 man grens are 6, pathfinders are like 9, tommies are 7 I think), sturm tiger was 18 (same pop as one comet), same deal with command panther, which has mark target and an aura, falls have fg42s and camo and were only 8 pop (lower than pathfinders IIRC), kt was barely more pop than a comet but also the only nondoctrinal heavy, p4 had more health and armor than most mediums, basically making it an advanced medium like an easy 8 or m4c, which is probably why that was increased. Stuka health nerf brings it in line with othe rocket arty (except calliope, I don't even know what the deal is with that) Call in prices were increased without proper tech for all factions changed so far, it's not an okw only change. I'm pretty sure they're also removing all other FRPs, so same deal there.
Well spotted buddy. No wonder he is acting the way he is.
@People saying the GCS results are irellevant. So who should we listen to when making balance changes then? People who have like 1000 4v4 games as allies and zero games as axis?
No, we should let people who have like 1000 4v4 games as axis and zero games as allies.
In the EFA revamp mod, okw still gets two additional bonuses via veterancy and gets access to obers and jp4 earlier.
Well getting all tiers doesn't work for me since you get all those free squads and I don't have the best micro in the world, so I can't keep an eye on all of them.
It also depends on what kind of game and opponent you get. I rarely have a particular build for USF, but I do like to get an at gun early and a pak howi eventually. So sometimes I am forced to get both the Captain and the LT.
Most of the times however, I simply skip the LT and get a Captain and then go straight for a sherman. I really find the sherman to be one of the best tanks in the game because of its offensive smoke capabilities, its HE shell and its decent performance vs a P4 considering its price.
Getting all tiers as USF isn't something that is really needed if you look at the faction closely. Most doctrines, if not all, give you the ability to skip a tier or more than one tiers! For example airborne can allow you to skip tiers because of the airdrop at gun and 50 cal and go straight for shermans. The armor doctrine allows you to skip the last tier all together...
On a side note, I miss being able to call in an airborne at gun and have it reinforce by air haha.
That's why airborne is my most used commander, because I can go captain and have a suppression platform. Paras and paths combo is also very cool, but not that viable in 1v1 because obligatory riflespam and free officers. Airborne crewed at guns were cool lol.
Thanks for all the other replies btw, gonna have to check out those games.
Not anymore with the current OKW revamp. Hell I even doubt people will go for the gun upgrade since you literally have to pump out tanks/Obers and thus get the upgrade ASAP. Good freaking luck finding the time for the upgrade before you get overrun by T34s.
That's true. Maybe typhoons will be pretty powerful in that case. But then again, I imagine that most people (I definitely will) will upgrade the gun after their first tank rolls out, which is probably after any obers that are wanted are built, since you will have to wait a while before you have enough for more tanks or have to replace obers that get randomly wiped by a stray explosive. I always find that I have a lot of muni as okw, so I don't think cost will be as much of an issue either. On the flip side, I believe smith did mention that the gun in question will be much less effective against planes and planes aren't going to be rng hellholes anymore.
Stop forcing free squads if I don't want them than it's fine.
They could make the second tier of lt only cost fuel, and add the officer as a 200(?) mp unit on first purchase, with replacements being more. Or split it 100 mp for both. Idk. I feel like free infantry squads is dumb, but usf has to buy so much other support shit too. What if you got like nades or racks with tech, or a free ambulance?
1. FRP is a part of western front armies and cant be remove.
2. they can add FRP to ostheer and soviet for better balance and increase time of reinforce for FRP.
They removed blizzards because they are stupid and those were a core part of the game. FRPs are just as stupid and degrade gameplay, so why not remove them?
