the ju87 either decimates tanks or does absolutely nothing without vision. if p47 is buffed to the ju87 levels it will need to lose its self spotting, it cant have the best of both worlds
Of course. |
The whole commander does not work. I would fix paratroopers and pathfinders cps first. However, they would have to push back their weapon upgrades to a later cp to keep them balanced. Also, Weapon team need to be cheaper and come earlier too. You can't skip captain because the at gun comes to late. The p47's are the only late game at this commander offers, so it better be dam good.
True that.
sometimes its good, sometimes dont do sh*t. But doesn't this one not need vision as in you dont need to scout your target unlike the axis equivalent (forgot what its called)
It doesn't need vision but that doesn't really make up for the inconsistency, which is due to the fact that the rockets are spaced very far apart, far enough that the tank will usually just sit in between them and take 0 damage. Half of them are over/under shot as well, unlike the JU-87 37mm loiter. |
A couple flaws about TD's "DPS": a lot of TDs are used like snipers, shooting once then pulling back until they are sure to be reloaded for a variety of reasons, and penetration isn't guaranteed on all targets/with all weapons. SU-76's chance to pen a kt, jt/ele, even panther, is drastically different than a JTs chance to pen a cromwell or E8. Similarly, a stug's chance to pen a IS-2 is much different than a firefly's chance to pen a P4.
Mediums also aren't the only tanks on the field. Ele and Jt aren't meant to counter shermans, and SU-76 isn't meant to counter Panthers or KTs |
IMO, bump the accuracy, make it a strafe rather than a loiter and cut the price.
That's what I think too. The rockets just need to be closer together as anything smaller than the broadside of a KT will usually just sit in the center of the rockets and not take any damage. Probably 100-120 muni would be a good price for it as a strafe IF it was able to reliably hit targets. |
Uh... wasn't immobilization crit removed from all mines?
Or I was getting it wrong all this time and stripped myself from this portion of fun?
Nope m6 and riegels still immobilize. Great when you get a kt with one. |
You are right there, I was just talking about the mobility of the KT/JT in comparison to being "swarmed" by a horde of T34/85 or the likes. You will need to protect it with other AT like PAKs/Raketen and that is when the bleed from mortars/indirect fire starts to hurt again.
Mines and fausts. Or just having supporting at like raks, schrecks, or other tanks around. And as others have stated, one of you should get indirect fire. |
Yeah I feel like Wehrmacht relies on PAKs since they dont have a non-doctrinal good tank destroyer. I mean the stug is there but it is terrible. Every other faction has good non-doctrinal tank destroyers. Then in the late game I find very difficult to micro these support weapons due to the abundance of rocket arty at that stage of the game.
Wot. Stug is one of the best units ostheer has right now lol. I literally saw this thread and thought "stug spam, mg42s, and brummbar". The only problem with it is that it can't fight other dedicated TDs like Jackson, su85, or firefly alone/until vet2, but it's dirt cheap anyway. |
In my opinion, the FBP Jackson just overshadows the stock Sherman.
A good solution for the USF faction as a whole may be to increase the health of the Sherman. If the Sherman's health were boosted from 640 to 720, like the Bulldozer and Easy 8, the USF would have a tank that could actually absorb shells. The 'dozer and E8 could even go to 800 health. American tanks aren't known for their armor, but a solid health pool on those tin cans might give USF that late-game staying power.
But, like a broken record, Ostheer Panther and the Tiger I are probably the the real dead weights in the scales of balance. And the poor Ostheer P4, being powercreeped into oblivion due in part to OKW. (And T34/76 honorable mention. But at least they saw AI buffs.)
And/Or make it able to deflect something bigger than a luchs 20mm sometimes.
The Sherman kills Infantry and the Jackson kills Tanks, there is nothing wrong with the Sherman as a shock unit that you rush when you have fuel lead, I wouldn't mind buffs to it though.
I think that there would be a lot of merit to having shermans that can stand up to punishment in order to screen for Jacksons, a little like coh1 and m10s (except Jacksons are more like snipers than flankers).

Engineers already gain vet slow, and you take a way 25% of their dps when you give a sweeper. Flamers are the beter way to go if you want faster repairs, and one sweper is usually enough.
As for the last line, everyone would. |
Comparing a engineer type unit with mainline infantry units make little sense to begin with.
Cheap RE have been tested it resulted in RE blobs with weapon punching above their price especially since the get a big accuracy bonus in vet 1.
December Balance
"Rear Echelons
We have scaled up Rear echelons up slightly to reduce spam.
Rear echelons cost up from 160 to 200
Rear echelon rifle damage up from 8 to 10"
As long as rack weapon with full DPS (even being better in their hand by vet 1), are available to RE this issue will exist.
I definitely agree about the rack problem (especially since volley fire actually becomes somewhat useful with a 1919 or BAR) but please don't cal REs mainline inf. They can barely beat pios at midrange. |
