If you want another squad of the guards you are getting another halftrack as well. And if you want a second Jaeger Commander you just outright can't get one. That doesn't change the manpower cost. I think the M5 Group works really nicely right now: the halftrack bundle stops you spamming the Assault Guards, and that lets them be really good value. Plus Soviet getting an M5 Quad at CP3 is nothing to slouch at either. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Guards assualt infantry24 Nov 2019, 19:15 PM Rangers cost 340 MP 90 MU. Assaut Guards, after subtracting the halftrack, cost 270 MP, which is less than Riflemen. I don't think there's much of an argument that Assault Guards are bad value. In: COH2 Balance

Because one of the reasons its weaker against mediums is the bombs are more spread out. It still does a good amount of damage against elefants, JTs (more surface area to hit) Edit: Just used it in cheat commands against JTs and Elefants, you can consistently take out more than half their health. Got an elefant to below 1/4 health with one of my tests, still a very good ability. Also stuns the tanks which il2 rockets dont do The same reason its easier to hit with is the reason its not great against mediums. The bombs are meant to cover a wide area as opposed to the rocket run which is very concentrated but easy to miss with I was dropping them on Tigers. In: COH2 Balance

Garrisoned vehicles can already do this, but because the capping ability is attached to the garrisoned squad you can't issue a capping order to the vehicle: you have to manually drive it into the circle. The only gameplay effect this has is allowing you to shift-queue capping orders with a garrisoned vehicle. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: PTAB vs IL-2 Rocket Run22 Nov 2019, 18:21 PM I've been testing the Soviet ram-and-bomb combos in the cheat mod, and I've discovered something... odd. Soviet Airborne comes with an IL-2 Rocket Strafe. If you can pull this off, it does huge damage to a single target. You can reliably deal 700ish damage to a Tiger with it if you line it up properly, which isn't too hard if you snare it or throw a T-34 at it. Soviet Anti-Tank comes with a similar PTAB bombing run. This one has a bigger aiming area so easier to hit with, it only does about 300 damage: it won't kill a medium that sits in the blast zone. But here's the kicker: the PTAB run costs 180 muntions. The Rocket Strafe costs 100 munitions. Surely this is wrong? The PTAB run does almost half the damage of the rocket run for almost twice the cost. Are the costs backwards or something? Thread: UKF absent from tourney play again22 Nov 2019, 14:22 PM UKF has only ever been viable in 1v1 when it's had a overpowered unit to crutch on. Without that, it's simply too easy to exploit its low unit count (and therefore limited options) and its lack of basic tools. In teamgames it's a different story: the static gameplay makes some of the emplacements viable, and the holes in the faction are filled by their teammate. USF had a T0 mortar added for a reason. Heavies are still viable stat wise, but they are no longer no-brainer choice over 2 meds. That sounds sensible. I think you could get away with up to 50 FU tbh. Thread: Heavy Tank CP19 Nov 2019, 20:24 PM The JPIV 'counters' tank destroyers with its Vet 1 and Vet 2 bonuses: Vet 1 gives it cloak so it always gets the first shot off, and Vet 2 lets it take another hit. Those are both big advantages in a slugging match. In: COH2 Balance
