I seriously don't understand this weird sentiment of maxim spam. Like, what? Every faction can spam MGs, but for some reason when Soviet players do it (who also happen to have the most garbage MG in the game) it's a bad thing? I don't know how many shit tier Wehr players I've had to deal with who decided 4 MG-42s out the gate is the right move. You know what happened? Smoking, flanking, in-direct fire, etc. I don't want to hear anyone bitch about how the MG-42 has 4 men, I don't care.
The arc, rate of fire, suppression, and damage on that thing is retarded, but you don't see me complaining about it when it gets spammed.
Its just PTSD from when it used to work. It was the pinnacle of EZ mode due to mobility and the fact that it was built for attack move. The fact that the current state of the maxim and cons means you HAVE to spam them if you plan OK using them doesn't help the sentiment either. |
I'd have the cp4 follow suit of other command units. Make the unit good on its own, and give it active abilities that scale with the player instead of passive abilities that make the best or worst player harder to kill
Make the cp4 a stub nosed stug with a turret. You trade all round performance for AI so it's not a no Brainer but not dead weight either. |
what if the basic is its an dps mode and when u press the button for rapid fire what now is i think a vet 1 abillaty you lay down so much lead its for that durration an good supressing platform

No1 spams mg42s and "a" move them. Becouse 1. it has longer set up time, 2. has only 4 men.
Maxims cannot once again be a core unit. it's not mainline infantry, it's a support weapon. It's job is to support.

@vipper even without tech the M3a1 is significantly more expensive. The fact that it requires tech while the Kuble does not is just additional justification.
Also you yourself felt the DSHK was OP, but nobody knew because maxim spam was meta. Sometimes a unit can be fine (or OP) but we don't know because it doesn't see action as there is an easier option. As long as volks are the most attractive option since forever any way to make the Kuble more attractive means making it too strong for a 210mo no tech starting unit that can be turned into fuel when it dies... |
its very clever in teamgames on exspacily urban maps to get some mgs and mortars and spam after than only penals. you have easy early game...and come after this vs heavy inf and overrun the anti mg builds: mortars and lots of stuff
You are pooched if you try that in team games. That's 320mp in JUST teching. Once you add in medics which you will absolutely need you will have 570mp in non combat. Christ building a cache too soon can sink you, let alone side teching... |

I mean the way the G43 works vs how the FG42 works the FG42 is just better. The only thing I can imagine the FG42 may be worse at is on the move penalty, but as far as DPS goes: FG42 > G43.
i mean more as an alternative to dropping with KAR98s rather than an alternative package since the k98s are somewhats underwhelming
also the g43s could be (and probably should be) the eilite package that increases LOS allowing them to be scoutier. find soemthing else like maybe a stun nade with the package or improved camo even REC acc buf. then the player can pick for squishy meat makers or a more rounded but still combat capable squad.and you have less DPS but more utility/ durability. they are still combat capable, but not nearly as much so.

Also I had an idea for falls. Let them keep the FG42s on the paradrop, but like the 50cal and AT gun from USF airborne, make there be a muni cost in the initial price to warrant the 4 FG42s. That way there isn't any of this nonsensical upgrade buisness.
I mean why are we making them drop with Kar98s again? Are they dumping on squads when they paradrop? When ingame I don't think any paradropping squad goes unharmed on the way down in enemy territory. And if you're able to paradrop behind a sniper and get the kill, isn't that risk/reward?
what about some g43s? then they are usefull without the upgrades but the upgrades make em better? |
