A lot of comments here saying jp4 shuts down allied TD's, that's just simply not true, they are both in range and can fight each other, yes in a vaccum jp4 may have the advantage but this is not 1 unit vs 1 unit and even it was, Firefily can have tupils to wreck the jp4, jackson can outflank it easily and su85 can spot it first. AN elephant or jagdtiger shuts down Allied TD's.

JP4 is by far the best TD in the game. Insanely good ROF. Insanely survivable. Penetration is decent enough to warrant pens on pretty much all stock tanks. Even when it goes against heavy tanks, the ROF is enough to warrant a couple of pens.
It's been OP for a long time. Nobody talked about it because the Jackson has been the main thorn in OST players regarding TDs. But in teamgames, on lane-y maps, Jackson doesn't hold a candle to JP4.
Pretty much every thread was filled with whataboutisms and so nobody talked about JP4.
JP4 has a 60% chance to pen a Comet. That's more than enough coupled with the ROF it has.
Even when going vs an IS-2. The penetration chance is 50%. You won't kill an IS-2, but you will most definitely keep it in check.
Put a JP4 on a lane-y map, combine it with a P4 and a stuka, and you have a perfect reply to anything in teamgames. Especially since diving a JP4 is difficult. You can't fire on the move due to the 17 target size and you have to go behind it due to 230 armour. Not to mention it's a 5 shot tank at vet2. It's literally a perfect TD considering OKW playstyle. The lower penetration is there because it shoots hella-fast. #

Majority of ppl agree Jackson is the best non doc TD in the game. the fact that you need to bring laney maps to prove a tank is OP shows in reality, the unit is not. You CAN fire on the move vs its 17 target size is because the moment you come on its sides it cant fire back, so that parts not true at all. And why would you need to get behind it when it has 230 armour? All allied TD's, At guns and most tanks can hit it from the front too. The reason ppl flank it because it cant fire back. |
lol hope this thread is a joke. Jp4 is to counter medium tanks and below. like other TD's its got no chance vs inf and At guns and doesn't reliably pen tanks with decent armour. Yes, it has some superior stats to other 60 range TD's but its lacking in 1 critical department and that's high penetration.
You dont see it as much cuz OKW need inf support from pz4 otherwise you'll get steam rolled by inf and panthers to counter heavy armour. |
Havent used or had this tactic used against me yet. However i hope the balance team dont just straight up nerf scott or pathfinder, i think its good that USF players are actually using combined arms for once instead of blobbing riflemen/officers like most do in team games.

Both USF and OKW were Over-performing upon release and regarding all these nerfs for USF, OKW received the same treatment.
However there is some truth to your statement regarding USF being easy. Regarding 1v1's , i would right now this is probs the best balance weve ever had so maybe you could clarify which game mode we talking about here.
If were talking about team games, I would say USF is easy to deal with UNLESS the USF player goes for callope doc. USF has great all round inf and excellent TD's but terrible indirect fire making them easy to play against if there is no callope. In the past the did compensate with over performing scott and Pak howi, but after the nerfs its much harder. The problem isnt USF having bad units, the problem is they just dont have the tools other factions have.
It is also unfair for you to bash the balance team regarding there unfair treatment of USF, i distinctly remember OKW having volks timing and MP nerfs early game SOLEY for USF who where struggling with mass volk swarm while UKF and soviets were fine with it. OKW early game was nerfed solely for USF. |
USF is probably at its worse point ever in team games right now. Its not worth playing and if you queue into a team with a USF player then at least be kind to them because they are playing with a severe handicap (along with you).
Constant nerfs in the past 2 patches has put it in a terrible position without any buffs. Calliope nerf, .50 cal nerf, pack howie nerf, scott nerf, jackson nerf, popcap nerf, AAHT nerf (remember when AA mode didn't even shoot down planes after a patch?). All without some sort of buff to other USF faction tools has put it in a terrible spot for team games right now. Sure it might be playable in 1v1s but USF is completely gutted to the point where it might be better to play Brits instead for team games.
This is not including all the Axis buffs that have made it into the game lately. Sturmtiger buff, T-34/ram removal, IL-2 removal from several commanders, and jackson vet 2 nerf as previously mentioned. All of these indirectly buff Axis heavy tanks. Most team games last a long time so any buff to Axis heavy tanks is a tilting the scales of long team games towards an Axis victory. Its a little bit infuriating that the balance team doesn't consider this.
Lets not forget that all prototype changes seem to occur on Axis units first and then are moved onto the rest of the units. So Axis get an initial buff and then we have to wait a patch for it to roll over for everyone else. Examples being Sturmtiger and Halftrack healing. Speaking of initial buffs, anyone remember when Elefant dive bomb got replaced with a very OP strafing run? Kind of makes me question if there is an Axis bias.
what a load of bs. clearly you haven't played USF in the past where your TD's couldn't even pen axis tanks from the front or when your Jackson would get rekt in 2-3 shots. nerfs without any buffs? man stop blabbering nonsense, there has been many buffs and nerfs to ALL factions. USF used to be USELESS in teams games now they are not. |
The gren model itself is fine, I think. Perhaps changing the trousers to the same feldgrau as the shirt under the jacket would be enough to make them look a little less daft?
Most other OST units have a two-tone scheme in that fashion.
i think that then would make it look too similar to the winter variant of pgrens.
Regarding the patch, buffing the pershing is a big mistake. Other changes are good though |
adding non doc rocket arty for USF and UKF alone will be enough to balance 4v4's for the better. It boggles my mind why relic does not allow this. @modders if relic allows further patches please BEG them for this change |
Which are getting buffed this patch because you know... they don't cut it enough vs mainline infantry. The rest of your post is your personal opinion but doesn't synergy with the game design.
- Veterancy 2 Received Accuracy bonus from -23% to -29%.
damn super gigantic buffs, sturms will now be like main line infantry for OKW for sure.
Srsly people comparing a bloody enginner unit to an alternate main line infantry unit with commpletely different roles. |
