I do think there are some similarities between okw and ukf in terms of being able to lock down vps. And for this I can suggest a fair solution. Neither flak hq nor bofors should be placeable within firing range of a vp (could create a second perhaps invisible barrier around them for emplacements).
But aside from this there are major differences that you can't discount. The most major ones are that okw loses their last tier production capacity if the flak hq goes down. Secondly there is no such thing as brace for it. Thirdly there is no such doctrinal ability as auto repair, stand fast. Additionally there is no garrisoning to increase rate of fire or add additional suppression abilities. I think this adds up to a completely different concept of sim city and if the usual five apologists would acknowledge that, like the overwhelming majority seem to with this poll, then we may get somewhere. |
Pre-AEC buff (which has now been removed, making it useless) the UKF lost significantly to OPKW.
In the five or so months since ukf release, the okw has been higher ranked than ukf for 1 month in 1v1 and 2v2.... ONE MONTH!!!
Just take a look on the right to the ladder top 10 and look at the percentage of wins that the top Brit players get vs top okw.

You can't call OKW med truck with LeIG around it a simcity anymore than you can call USF Ambulance surrounded by Pak Howies a simcity. |
The new advanced emplacements doctrine (a.k.a. Sim City doctrine) has the potential to completely change the objective of the game from strategic tactical infantry and tank play, into a slugfest of lobbing artillery back and forth over hedges and buildings like an ugly game of tennis. My question is not whether or not there is a potential counter to a buildup of emplacements, nor is it whether you can be successful at destroying sim city, but more specifically; Does countering this game mechanic feel like a chore, instead of fun (an interesting challenge)? |
Where your LeiG?
The improve fortification increase emplacement armor tọ 45, while in fact, Leig has 75 penetration.
HA! This is a GREAT joke. Just go and try and see how far you get with 2 Leigs with this emplacement commander. Your naivety is sweet. |
Yeah and this caused UKF to be fucked vs OKW if they played a certain way, now UKF can be cancerous back, I love it, I make Helms Deep every game.
You always talk about UKF having been fucked vs OKW before this Sim City doctrine. But the stats show otherwise. I think you are living in a victim fantasy mate. I'll tune my violin for you. |
I played a couple axis 4v4s yesterday. A howitzer is pretty much essential. Festung Support seems tailor made for beating emplacements: mortar halftrack, offmap smoke, howitzer and sector artillery
In my first game testing out the sim city commander the opponent built four howitzers. It was annoying for sure, but didn't do shit. I just ploughed in there with a churchill and artilleried them. I lost one forward reinforce point, that's it. |
Playing as brits with no non-doctrinal indirect fire vs LeiG spam behind flak HQ auto reinforcing with med is just as cancerous, only now UKF players can yolo city to fight back.
And Leig spam became a thing cos of the terminator blobs and no decent suppression tool. You can keep saying this was caused by that and going all the way back. Why stop at one level? |
Anyone who thinks this land mattress is meh or mediocre or needs to be cheaper or less cp is literally living in cloud cuckoo land. It still is ridiculous even after the halving of its garrison power. |
Cool. Does half the damage now to flak hq, still more than other rocket artillery does. Still one-shots buildings though. I guess that is intended. |
