A solution could be going the Soviet way, 1 make RE default 5 men, 2 bolster cost lowered to 10 fuel , now cost munitions to upgrade each sqaud of IS for 1 more man but occupy 1 weapon slot, the upgrade could remove the out cover debuff and give the scoped rifle too and increase sight, make it a choice instead of a no brainer, either 4 men 2 bren or 5 men 1 bren, u could even buff bren then |
OH Blitz provides 0.25 RA
OKW Combat Blitz does provide AT power in the form of 25% RoF + 20% acc
The Cromwell swapped the bonuses from vet 2 with vet 3. Basically traded it's main gun effectiveness for mobility.
Overall Cromwell is not that much of an issue.
yes that was my point OP called it meh |
No..it doesn't.
Sherman is better at short and tied at medium, both Panzer IVs are better at long.
well by overall margins yes it has more pen (if u compare the pen to other and add it) |
https://coh2.serealia.ca/#43 for stats (no preview patch tho)
blitz kerig and combat blitz don't increase AT power tho, and for example a vet 2 Cromwell is actually faster than a blitz kreir p4

Allied stock mediums, including the Cromwell, do not get penetration bonuses with Veterancy.
1 i was referring to the patch (the Cromwell now gets a 20% more pen ability)
2 and said RELOAD/pen (both work and arguably reload is better as it works better vs rear armor , AI and low target armor ) |
yes but then u have other bonus reload etc , and cost is counted to mobility too (if u look u will find if axis get bonus armor the allies get an equivalent reload/pen buff with vet),OP was specifically complaining about its ai and at , FOR THE PRICE its quite good and will be evn better after patch
after the mod team had their hand on the game they changed the design philosophy from giving free armor to axis and free pen to allies to the tanks actually paying exactly what they have but instead focusing the resource in 1 aspect of the tank (p4 + armor and ai,Cromwell speed and at, Sherman moving ACC and AI,t-34 cheap and ai) |
mhh actually Cromwell has the best pen of all medium stock tanks, and is receving more buff in this patch both ai (buff to mgs and rotation and vet 2) and vet 1 (more ACC on the move and more pen timied) |
Oh, it's not clear from the screenshot but this was the top picked commander.
I'll go get the link.

I've always said that tournament stats are not conclusive evidence because of small sample size and many other factors, but that they are an indication. And I did not claim these stats are conclusive evidence, I said they offer perspective. That the commander was used a lot (/the most) and had a high win rate. And I hope that it should at the very least make you doubt whether the upgrade is now "completely useless".
This, together with the actual stats that I provided that show the G43 into STG44 swap was not a harsh nerf at all, should help prove that it is still a good upgrade. I haven't seen any evidence here to prove the opposite.
In any case, if the upgrade does need further adjustments I'll be very happy to do them. We'll have to wait for live testing (patch release) to see how it truly performs now, though.
leaving aside the fact that osther is crutching on that commander and and still losing easily Vs sov and USF in the same tournament
The missing NERF is to the move dps, g43 loses 8% DPS on the move the stg loses 50%
Idk if it's heavy or not , just compare a rifle bar DPS Vs 5 green DPS until is balanced
No need for another mobile defence |
i just hope it does not follow the same pattern of all the nerfed commander: commander is the most played one that make the faction have bearable win rates--> nerf to oblivion---> never see play again
Mobile defense says hello |
In most of my tests it was unable to shoot any plane. (most time it didn't shoot, because rotation was too slow)
from my experience it consistently shut down recon plane and send them to my medic hq |
