From June 21st update:
This ability is a passive that increases the power of the squad as they lose members. Modifiers are +4% accuracy, -2% weapon cooldown and -3% received accuracy per member lost.
ok thanks! i forgot that change! |
A big thanks to Mr Smith, The Machine and MirageFla (sorry if i did forgot someone)
I love this game. I love my soviets, and yes at first i was mad on all the nerfs on soviets. but the balance team explained us the changes and i do think now that we are going to a better futur.
It the first team, that take time to explain us the changes, that listen to us, etc etc. and they doing it all for free, they most love this game , for doing that!
Thanks again and keep going! |
Hi,
Can someone explain me this ability? is this ingame already? or it coming in the new patch?
thanks. |
are you guys thinking about making the stg44 upgrade for okw volks not taking their weapon slots or is this out of scope aswell? It is a real pain in the a** to not be able to get dropped weapons from the enemy
dont upgrade all your vols squads.
and do you know that almost all allies infantry got some nerfs in in this patch to bring thems to wher infantry scale.
that mean after this patch okw infantry will be the strongest for some time.
|
Technically this is false. There was a post on the P4 in the Winter Balance Preview Feedback thread and since this was out of scope of the patch I move it out. That is all. Or is it?
JackDickolson is jsut axis biased. |
Noted. We have also seen a similar proposal by Vipper, and I think that adding a barrage ability is a very neat idea.
The only reason we really picked on the Stug-E is because its damage model and AoE is very similar to the T-70. Thus, finding the solution for the one means that we can immediately apply the same solution to the other.
Note that even though the call-in cost for the Guards has changed, their reinforcement cost has remained 27MP/model.
Personally, I feel it is alright if elite units cost more to call-in than they cost to reinforce (like the PGren pricing model). The idea is that you take a risk when calling the unit in, and your risk will pay off once you have achieved vetting.
If guards feel too weak, I doubt that this is because of Ostheer infantry scaling. There is a 5th faction in the game that hasn't received changes to their infantry yet. That's because we are trying to estimate where the balance will shift.
Our strategy is use Ostheer infantry as the gold standard, and adapt allied armies around that. If an army gets paper tanks, they should obviously get better infantry than wermacht.
Reverting armies' powercreep and rebalancing around the gold standard will take a bit of time, and it might be a bit painful. We also expect that this will lead to a temporary power spike, until we can adjust all armies' veterancy. However, once this is done, we are confident that this will take the game to a better place than it is currently.
Agreed. The changes to the G43's were one of the first changes we came up with. Even though, as I mentioned, we are rebalancing infantry scaling around Ostheer, we feel that Ostheer fans might be feeling a bit disappointed that their faction is receiving so few changes.
It is a very hard sell to try to explain to someone that a faction has been strengthened, because other factions have been nerfed. That's why our first thoughts were about, at least, doing a spring clean of completely useless Ostheer infantry-related commanders and abilities.
On the other hand, we realised that we were becoming to get overwhelmed by Light Vehicle changes. Due to the scope of these changes we expect a very bumpy ride as the meta realigns to the new role of Light Vehicles. Since this part of the game is receiving the biggest amount of changes, we want the people to actually focus on the early-mid game progression, so that we can get it right.
Thus, we decided to cut down all unnecessary doctrinal changes, unless they are touching an extremely OP unit (e.g., the Stug-E), or unless we are making a very conservative change (e.g., USF M3 halftrack, G43's).
Once all infantry veterancy is sorted, then I think we can jump back and redo the G43 upgrade so that it gives a true role-changer/edge at something. As things are, though, the ground beneath infantry balance is still shifting, and it's too early to make such an assessment. At least with the sight-range upgrade, G43's on PGrens will not be completely useless.
This is also, probably, why you aren't going to see any changes done to the Greyhound just yet.
this should have been said in the patch notes by relic, now i undersand the change to the soviets, and i will wait more patches to bring okw infantry to the scale of wher infantry.
thanks for the patch and your hard work. |
Isn't sticking your head in the sand regarding one faction a completely backwards approach to balancing in general? Shouldn't you be trying to find a balance point somewhere in the middle when it comes to Soviet infantry facing both OKW and Wehrmacht? I don't see how you can just pretend like one faction doesn't exist. Try to find balances that work against both factions, and then compromise and put it somewhere in the middle. Otherwise you're just going to get what you mentioned, complete OP infantry from OKW vs the Soviets.
+1.
seem that this is the relic way to do things, we gonna most wait 2-3 months to be able to play soviets again. |
does the t70 got now the 30 ammo repair with some commanders when out of combat? |
So thay nerf soviet and i must waiting 6 month for next patch that wiil be maybe fix it ? Just look, Mr.Smith write we herf guards coz ppl must choose another calling units like schocks, shocks only work in few maps, like close range units, thay are WORSE elite close range (hello rangers, commandos, paratrooper) compared the there price and DPS. Next thing thay begin nerf all different units like mortars for one system, like in old times. Thay write we what balance penals/guards around vermaht infatry, but maybe forget how its play with cons when grens have lmg and how its look in late game. Soviet are one of MP bleed faction, and with this price for elite infatry and there efficiency its looks not good. Ostheer pio buff make unbalance now compared to soviet for 0 reason, coz moders can not explaine why thay buff this unit, but ignore soviet pio ? This all for me looks like step to meet axis hysterics in forums (but with wrongs things). Hello b4 20 popcap we wii fix you close in 22 century, just wait. Just balance politics coz Kyle maybe tired clean thread in official forum from axis lovers.
this is exactly how i feel. And soviet enginers, get no love and still they lost every engangement against pios before this patch. |
Cause if we do anything to buff the Grenadiers, we would also have to buff all the following squads, which would underperform in relation to them:
LMG Grenadiers (call-in infantry)
Panzergrenadiers
Stormtroopers
Assault Grenadiers (more)
Revert some of the nerfs to Guards
Revert some of the nerfs to Penals
Conscripts
Shock troops
Assault guards
Anti-infantry Partisans
Tommies
Commandos
Airborne Paratroopers
Recon Paratroopers
Pathfinders
Recon Pathfinders
Lieutenant
Captain
Volksgrenadiers
Obersoldaten Vet0-Vet3
Finally, with every single infantry squad buffed to insane levels, we might realise later on that HMGs are no longer doing their jobs. Thus we would also have to buff the following HMG teams to compensate:
Maxim
Dshk
MG42
Vickers
MG34
50cal
That's a ton of squads we would have to change if we wanted to change Grenadiers. Don't you agree? Instead, we just nerfed the 3-or-so squad types that truly overperformed in relation to Grenadiers in terms of killing firepower and utility
Thanks for the answer now i undersand more the nerf on penals and guards, but why ddint you nerf okw infantry then to match conscripts to? |
