Wehrmacht has 251 flamer and pioneer-flamer. And that is more than enough to destroy houses.
OKW has the perfect house-denying tool with incendiary grenades, but as for the destroying part you can only really rely on Stuka zu Fuss and Feuersturm doctrine, which can turn soviet FHQs (Urban defense doctrine) into a real problem for OKW on maps with many concrete buildings. However, that will get improved a lot soon when soviet FHQ will require 2 CPs.
USF and to a certain degree brits have horrible anti-garrison weapons as well, so I don't see the issue.

It's just the ridiculous amount of Anti-Infantry destruction power in every single unit that Soviets build.
Penals --> beat every single axis infantry 1v1 early game, can destroy anything they want from buildings, bunkers, OKW structures with easy one click wonder satchels. Can be upgraded to be all around unit with more normal AI firepower, but can counter every single light vehicle/tank axis can use.
ZIS gun/Su76 --> not just providing anti-tank support, but having the ability to barrage anything to oblivion.
Mortar&Maxims having 6 man squads can just take a beating all day long from axis weaker indirect fire mortar/IG's before needing to retreat. Additional bonus of can ignore sniper fire longer with 6 man squad. 120mm even if it's RNG again provide more AI destruction ability.
T70 --> Overpowered on gun AOE damage that destroys every single axis infantry and comes in to the game very fast. Later will be still infantry destroyer, but is a reliable vision provider.
The thing is that Soviets have so many extra abilities in their units that makes them from good to strong units compared to axis.
ps. Still I am not totally saying they are overpowered you just have to get used to that you are fighting always uphill battles. Maxim spam is still very strong in 2v2 or higher games. |
I usually have Feuerstorm in my loadout as OKW or one of the commanders with the MHT in as Ost. I do sometimes have problems with Sim City or FHQ (especially since the nerf to the Walking Stuka) but not sure if a demo would really help. I'd much rather have better damage to buildings from LEIG's, Walking Stukas, or MHT's incendiary rounds, particularly against FHQ.
If I did get demos, I'd mostly use them in 1v1 on certain buildings like the ones that overlook the center VP on Crossroads, or some 2v2 maps like Rails that have buildings by the fuels that can be annoying if the other side gets them.
Exactly and my original point isn't that we need demo, but it's little sad that neither axis faction can't just destroy a building they want without spending a lot of time from some random mortar or trying to burn it down.

Also, the premise that Axis need it because some Allies have it is interesting. If that is the case, then both Soviets and USF should get non-doctrinal advanced medium tanks and heavy tanks.
You totally miss the point that axis have no early to mid game real ability to destroy buildings or just garrisons like allies have. Brit infantry have some AP ammo that having building to building fights you will always lose to them, there are strategic buildings that are better that they are destroyed than left standing against you. |
Another approach would be to make Ostwind extremely good vs Light vehicles/tanks.
This could be done by giving Ostwind have access to AP rounds which is historically correct since it could fire such rounds. There even reports 37mm gun could destroy T-34.
In game the the AP round could serve as a hard counter to light tanks like the T-70, Stuart, valentine...The unit might need some additional changes like smaller size and more speed to be able to chase these units.
The Centaur already completely destroys most axis light vehicles and tanks while Ostheer seem to struggle against such vehicles.
I agree in everything you said, but it doesn't need buff to speed to chase it should be a defensive counter to those vehicles so they don't rampage freely, but it really should perform against infantry much closer to centaur. |

I would rather in game magically appearing units have 1 unit limit on battlefield so they aren't spammed like partisans are. So buff to partisan unit, but limit to 1 unit. You want it again to pop out of nowhere..get the first unit killed. |

This wasn't talk of only 1v1, as in the 2v2 qualifiers it was used. Anyway my point for topic is that you would at least have a option for it in a commander and atm there isn't even a option for them or anything similar. (Still ignoring goliath). This suggestion isn't even game breaking so allies against this is very strange...

At this moment Axis don't have any easy way to wipe houses, compared to allies. Soviets who are the most troll in destroying garrisons, USF has demo in a commander option and UKF just one click wonder arty to houses.
In a way balance and little bit of historical point of view is very strange that neither faction from axis can use explosives (satchel,demo).
