You can spawn them on map but they can't be used as a split second wipe mechanic and their camo still lets you hide and upgrade for an ambush. Partysans theoretically should work but their power level in live is too low. Personally I do not like ST, the DPS drop off is simply too high making encounter RNG based while they are not that cost efficient in the AT role. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - Ostheer Feedback1 Apr 2021, 20:15 PM Luftwaffe Supply Doctrine Air Dropped Medical Supplies The ability is good but not very player friendly. One drops 3 supplies and has no means of moving them to another a place. The ability need some extra depth. Possible solution: Mechanism remains the same for most units but when pioneer and grenadiers picks them up they do not activate. Instead they temporarily replace their stock medic kit and can be activated on player demand. and/or item can be loaded and stored and transported in half tracks and then drop by them. Air Resupply Drop Supply Drop Zone being by air resupply drop look to me more like nerf a neutral change at best. HMG-34 is pointless imo since the superior HMG-42 is available from HQ and the ATG (although allows skipping T2 building) one run the risk of being caught off guard. And the ability is rather pricey since one has to stockpile the manpower and then use even more manpower to man these weapons. The changes also make the commander share 2 abilities with osttruppen commander which at least has access to os and can probably spare the manpower and theoretically man the weapons with Ostruppen (although with the latest changes even that is not a great idea). My suggestion about Air Resupply Drop would be replace the HMG with mortar or remove second weapon, possibly replace the Pak with RW for flavor, (reduce the fuel/munition if you have) to but lower price and CP of package. Luftwaffe Field Officer Although I like the addition imo the officer would much better suited for CAS since it could easily replace more commander slots at that commander. In addition it feel make the commander basically overlap with OS while imo being weaker. If find the barrage and Victor barrage to be stronger on the artillery commander. Since the unit seem to have longer range to its ability and it more of support unit, I would suggest to replace the MP-40 with K98 creating a unit that would fight in the distance. An MP-40 or G43 could replace the luger with vet (or FG-42 on semi auto). In addition the strafe seem to me to take too long and not be very effective (at frist glance it looked weaker than Airbourne Guards version) . One could consider moving the incendiary barrage here or some sort of call in planes that work similar to the "hold the line" typhoons . Incendiary Bombing Run The ability seem still to be lacking compared to its cousin the incendiary barrage (that is a death sentence to ATG and should be toned down a bit to allow ATG to move). Heavy Bombing Run (new) Although new abilities are cool this one seem rather odd. Why should a commander that already have an incendiary barrage get a second one? Is it a good idea to allow a powerful off map to a commander with access reckon planes? Maybe the solution lies in changing the ability into massive area denial tool with planes dropping lesser bomb but for bigger duration. In sort I am not sure I would pick this commander over osttrupen that seems to have better synergy with the abilities. So as far as the design goes I would suggest, either moving officer or merging medic kit. The free slot could be occupied by some of the following abilities: A version of "mark target" and/or The introduction of "Arial" the "tower" from Soviet defense commander. The Arial could offer reinforcement/medic kits/some sort off map/vision recon planes/flares... and/or A 1-2 "engineer unit" with 5-6 entities designed similar COH1 that can repair and man weapons. and/or Some sort of map that utilities the hold the line mechanics of planes and/or the 2 CM AA emplacement. and/or A SWS AAHT that can set up similar to OKW base (with inferior stat) and possibly pack and move. Thread: Doctrinal infantry spawning mechanics1 Apr 2021, 19:07 PM Infiltration units. In rather typical COH2 manner this units went from mediocre, to OP, to irrelevant. Imo infiltration unit should become available to build from HQ at normal price and available to spawn from building but for a premium cost. That would solve the problem of proper balancing. They should offer added utility so that the remain useful even after spawn. (recon, explosives traps, becaon, off map call-in,...) Camo unit should lose HE grenades and get DOT damage instead so reduce "cheesy". Paras and infiltration units should have a high entity counter so that can operate behind enemy lines and retreat back to their line with relative safety. In: COH2 Gameplay

You are missing the point. How good PzIV J is has to with balance of the unit and it did not claim it was bad, what it bring to the table has to do weather it is worth having a commander slot for it. The question is worth buying over PzIV? Even if it is could it bring more to the table so people have more reason to build it? If you compare PzIV and PzIV J at vet 3 the first one is slightly more mobile and has better rear armor(!!!) and the later have better scatter values that basically make better vs infatry. The unit can be designed to bring much more to the table. Jump back to quoted post1 Apr 2021, 14:43 PMMMX if you want to engage heavies then a panther is obviously the better choice, but for anything else the pziv j is the best ostheer has to offer. If one want to engage Super heavies Panther should be the choice but Panther is not very cost efficient vs heavies like KV-1, Churchill... Designing the PzIV J like 76mm Sherman with higher penetration values and lower AI would create a unit that would have a more specialized role. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Commander Update Beta 2021 - General Feedback1 Apr 2021, 18:13 PM Recon planes: With the introduction of stock recon sweep planes in 3 faction out of 5 the commander abilities reckon planes value has been diminished. Not only the plain are stock but in some cases they can do a better job than loiter planes since the can provide vision if there AA asset on map. Imo stock reckon planes should be removed creating more room for their doctrinal cousins or at the very least see some changes. Stock recon planes have vision normalized, speed normalized and lower, are limited to 1 and always fly from base sector to a point indicated by the player. The change aims to make them vulnerable to AA and allow counter plane. Doctrinal single sweep planes allow player to set path. Loiter recon planes now come in 2 planes. First plane is make a faster circle of field and then leaves but it invulnerable to fire , then a second planes circle that work as now. The changes aim to make Loiter planes retain some value even in large modes with lots of AA on the field. In: COH2 Balance

Want to create snipers that can not be countered by vehicles because their counter will arrive before the vehicle? Scrap the upgrade and replace with a new "AT conscript" infatry with different abilities/vet bonus/reinforcement cost/... or Rename the ability AT training, Ability now replaces AT sathcel with AT grenade volley that homes for Penal (one could even experiment with adding 10% penetration for Penal) Conscript able to to upgrade with 2 PTRS for 40 munition can no longer ourah and get faust instead of AT grenade for free, can still use molotov and can build tank traps. PMD-6M Light AT Mines No reason for bunker with this ability . Tank traps, increase build time, reduce size so ballistic weapon to not hit them or add damage reductions/armor, change cover for green to yellow Tank Hunter Ambush Tactics A badly designed ability. Camo T-70 in reckon mode is cheesy T-34/76 is better vs Infantry with the first strike bonus SU-76 already has the ability SU-85 has enough penetration but is crippled by rotation speed. Scrap the idea for T-70, T-34/76. Allow the ability only for SU-76/SU-85. Remove first strike bonuses add sight bonus and rotation bonus (change appliers to SU-76 vet ability). SU-76 get first strike penetration bonus with this ability. B-4 203mm Howitzer Artillery does not fit the theme of the commander replace with mark target or with new Armored Vehicle Detection that is available only 1 commander. IL-2 PTAB AT Bombing Run Fix the ability as an AT ability, currently it far better for taking out OKW truck. Probably tone down and make cheaper. In: COH2 Balance

In addition now share 2 abilities with "Mechanized Support Tactics" and compare pale (unless 1vs1) They seem as cost efficient as grenadier than can, infiltrate, cap faster, have better sight, build trap/mines/wire and can then, ambush transition to more cost efficient AT unit than storm troopers. Suggestions: Radio intercept remove from the commander or bundle it with spy network in order to free an extra slot. mark target remove from "Mechanized Support Tactics" and from "Guard Motor Coordination Tactics" it a powerful ability and could become the selling point for other weaker commanders. The change will also make ISU and T-34/85 commander become more balance one vs other. (mark target can become available to tank hunters). Partisan The idea of merging AT/AI partisan in 1 is bad. Unit should have different cost/different vet bonuses/different XP value/reinforcement cost/... Keep both partisan in one slot but use make enter the field differently: AT partisan now build from HQ AI partisan now as an infiltration unit AI partisan start as 5 men with 5 conscript mosin and lose their grenade (camo infatry should have DOT grenades) AT partisan get increase durability but lose the camo or have pay munition to upgrade with static camo only. No first strike bonuses. That change will help better design both units. IL-2 bombing Add the IL-2 bombing to the commander. Camo zis One can even test replacing the camo zis with a stolen Pak with 4 men partisan crew. In: COH2 Balance

How much do PG cost? How much is DPS PG lose when they drop a model? How much DPS do they have on the move? I suggest you test AT PG vs AT Assault Guards fight and see which unit wins. And why are comparing PG with assault guards and Paras which are closer. AT assault guards have similar AI DPS above mid while arriving one CP earlier and being cheaper.
