In return, the Forward Assembly has been reduced in cost to allow the British to reinforce on the field. The building can also be upgraded to provide an alternative to healing. Cost reduced from 250MP to 150 - No longer awards garrison aura (the only way to get the garrison bonus is to have a squad garrisoned inside the emplacement) - Artillery flares range increased from 40 to 75 - FRP cost reduced from 200 to 100 - Activating FRP incurs a 33% resource penalty, and cannot be toggled on/off for 60 seconds - Can upgrade medics for 50MP/60MU - (Repair station disabled)" If one takes ostheer banker as base line this is wait more cost efficient. In addition the healing allows one to upgrade tommies with pyrotechnics giving UKF a very big sight range advantage and able to spam the dirty cheap artillery. In: COH2 Gameplay

(to cover a bigger area) - Fixed an issue where Bulldozer sherman would fire fewer smoke canisters than vanilla shermans" Again one has to check the base line: If Ostheer PZIV is the base line M4 is equal or better to most stats (accept armor which is becomes rather irrelevant from the high efficiency of AT units), yet it is cheaper and gets AP/HE rounds (can become a better versions of ostwind), crew repairs and smoke. Jump back to quoted post6 Jul 2017, 18:19 PMmiragefla Furthermore, Volley-Fire requires munitions and you need to be still you properly use it, along with the fact you're taking more fire and suppression only kicks in after 5-7 seconds. volley fire can be used from garrison with great affect. It becomes even better if you RE are equipped with a weapon. Volley fire as an ability so far has been either too good or useless. Imo it should be (like many other abilities) an ability that scales with veterancy. Check your base line: Combat engineers cost 170 RE cost 180 CE worse DPS no combat ability RE "volley fire" Veterancy: 'Trip Wire Flares' ability +20% accuracy, +62.5% repair rate No longer takes extra damage while repairing, +15% accuracy, -15% cooldown Rear Echelon Troops +20% accuracy +50% repair speed , -23% received accuracy, -20% weapon cooldown Increases the squad's size to 5 better veterancy for RE Now add the weapon upgrades for RE and the ability to equip weapon and sweeper and for 10 MP the units is far more cost efficient. Original RE squads had 160MP cost, 20MP reinforcement, while their 5th men came at Vet2. Mod version REs are somewhere in the middle between the two extremes. + You cannot blitz to Vet3 with bazooka vet anymore If RE at 160 where problematic there will be even more problematic since they now cost 180 but have +25% damage and better volley fire. I actually find RE better both in combat and in utility. In: COH2 Gameplay

They also have worse survivability than Rifles and lack grenades along with snare. Rifles also have 30% weapon accuracy when they get to level 3 on top of another hit of RA. They only can get 1 weapon and a sweeper now from the 2 weapons with a sweeper. Unlike the other engineers, RE generally don't do as much building or support due to vehicle crews so they'll be fighting more. Do note RE were never worth 200 and Volley-Fire only had one use and that was against Ostheer pioneers who decided to close the gap at max range rather than backing away when the ability activates. Besides, I think people would prefer not having to go Rifle, Rifle, Rifle every game to hold ground outside of certain strategies which intentionally avoid fighting until an officer arrives. If the base line is EFA, R.E. are far more cost efficient than Pios (cost 200) and CE (cost 170). In addition currently a bar or LMG is better in the hands of RE since they get 20% accuracy from vet 1 something already fixed in Conscripts and Ostruppen with accuracy penalties (even thou these units have limited access to weapons). If you do not want to use the same penalties at least replace x120% accuracy bonus with "volley fire" as a vet 1 ability. Making a unit OP to diversify built have proven disastrous (like the Penal buff), each units should have a role, bring utility to table and not simply be OP. So instead of turning them into riflemen baby brother give the a role or move some of doctrinal abilities to them instead of riflemen (field defenses, Forward observes, smoke grenades...) Cheap Rear echelon where tested and found OP so they had to be changed: DECEMBER 3 UPDATE "Rear Echelons We have scaled up Rear echelons up slightly to reduce spam. Rear echelons cost up from 160 to 200 Rear echelon rifle damage up from 8 to 10" If one want to further avoid the riflemen, riflemen, riflemen built one should consider a promote system where USF units can be promoted to officers and elite units. They might be weak at vet 0 but at vet 1 they get a massive buff with x120% accuracy. Currently they are better with with lmg than riflemen are. Actually they should received the same penalties Ostturppen and conscripts have received in the weapon they pick up. I also do not see why they should be able to equip both weapons and minesweepers. Imo minesweepers should take all weapon slot for R.E. and Royal Eng. so that one can use easier mines against these blobs. In: COH2 Gameplay

June 23rd Update: Wehrmacht: Stug G We found the Stug G was missing a clear identity leading it to be a unit that was much underused. The changes we made will give the Stug G a role of a light tank destroyer. Health increased from 400 to 560 Penetration increased from 110/120/130 to 170 / 185 / 200 AOE Penetration to match other tank destroyers profiles Scatter Max to 8 Radius reduced from 1.5 to 0.5 Reaction Radius reduced to 0.5 Distances adjusted to match other tank destroyer profiles Cost increased from 230/80 to 280/90 Actually this change was great one. In real life the lines between assault guns (vehicles) (Sturmgeschütz) and tank hunters (vehicles)(Panzerjäger) got blared when the low velocity guns that could fire both direct and indirect fire where replaced by high velocity guns dual purpose guns. Actually tank hunter units where equipped with Stug -G III vehicles. Assault guns where used by "Sturmartillerie" units. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Eastern Front Armies Revamp 5 Jul 2017, 12:51 PM Why in my opinion Eastern front revamp has fail to set the base line for other factions: Infantry Penal retain most of their punch although of their time frame. (The far DPS of Penal is comparable with that of PF that are a cp2 unit, need a 90 mu upgrade and are generally considered op.) Conscript get buffed with little changes to counter weight the balance. On the other hand grenadiers one of the weakest mainline infantry receive little and while other elite infantry have their built/reinforcement time reduced PG retain their very high build reinforcement time. Medium Tanks Although German medium tanks are generally not cost efficient their receive little buff while Stug is nerfed and so TWP. On the Other hand the SU-76 gets buffed significantly vs Mediums. Heavy Tanks The Panther might be getting a damage but the balance shift towards its intended targets since the IS-2 now need one less shot to kill it. Teching I am not not sure what the goal of the changes are but I see little reason why Ostheer has to have the draw back of having both a linear tech tree and also be forced to unlock all BP4 and built a T4. My suggestion remain: 1) Balance all infantry unit for their time frame one vs the other with "weapon profiles" and "relative positioning" in mind. 2) Add utility to units and not DPS to increase diversity. 3) If some unit need to improve more in late game offer gated (behind tech level) upgrades 4) Give units and especially tanks roles and the tools to achieve them 5) custom made vet bonuses to specific units In: COH2 Gameplay

Like, if there was a 50% chance to hit a jackson at max range with JT then either you could miss like 2-3 shots in a row, which is devastating, or hit both the first two shots, which would probably be equally as frustrating for the Jackson's commander because it was only a 50-50 chance to hit one shot, meaning that there's only a 25% chance of 2 shots connecting. Totally hypothetical situation, but it highlights the problem with decreasing TDs' accuracy, even though I'm on board with what you want the end result to be. First of all we have to clarify that missing the accuracy check does not mean that the shot would miss the target. TDs gun have allot a scatter distance but little angle scatter which translates to a high chance of collision with the targets that are moving in the same line with the gun. That would actually improve the game since the TDs would be more effective against target that are trying to attack them frontally and less effective against targets that try to flank them. As I have pointed out the Elephant has 57.4% chance to hits score a "natural hit" vs a Sherman yet some people complain it OP. I see little reason why JT should be more accurate than than the Elephant or why all the other TD with 55+ range should be so much more accurate than the Elephant. In: COH2 Gameplay
