To achieve this change, it is indeed possible to set three different entities for each weapon That is one way of doing it but there is another. One can apply a penalty to all engineer type of units and a buff to all elite infantry. Then adjust spawning weapons according. If one wishes now one can adjust any of drop-able weapon with mainline infantry in mind. Engineers and elites will have the same weapon bu suffer or gain the penalty. That would also make player easier to know what to from the performance (should i pick a DP with Pg or am i actually losing DPs?) of picked up weapon and now with which squad they should pick up a weapon they find. No. lets say UKF use their half-truck and drop weapons any ally infantry can pick them up. That make certain units OP. If the same weapon picked performed different for ea ch units type (engineers, mainline infantry, elite)thing would be far more balanced. Imo things would be even better if generally allied drop-able weapon become cheaper but less effective similar to guards DP's. In: COH2 Balance

Another thing is that if a player spams bunkers late game he doesnt really need infantry, he only needs pionners to repair and tanks. If ostheer infantry was not that easy to evaporate in late game people might actually build them in late game instead of making pioneers (and bunkers). In: COH2 Balance
