Dont be afraid u can show me your playercard seriously even your are low rank player there is nothing wrong with that. Im just curious what faction u prefer.
I belive new usf commander is solid now especially for team game
How rangers and new caliope can be a bad choice ?
I want whatever you're smoking if you think Rangers and Calliopes are gonna stand up to tank spam in team games lol. |
Here lies urban assault, killed by lack of actual feedback. Jackson got much more attention instead.
RIP, you will be missed. April 2019-April 2019
Nah just another commander that's gonna be added to the pile of needing a revamp because most people will consider it as weak and just keep playing with Infantry, Armor and Mech companies.
I really do believe we need less gimmicks in these new commanders and more solid abilities and units that expand your options, similar to the UKF one because I deem that one as the best example to use. |
Imo from a design point of view:
Elite infatry (ranger), Heavy tank (Sherman) and doctrinal Rocket artillery in one commander should not be available.
Not a heavy tank, a slow and expensive meatshield tank with a crappy gun, take it as a moving wall on tracks if you will for the most part. It's just there as a damage sponge for Infantry and other tanks. Plus Heavy Cav already features a Heavy tank with the Rangers and the Calliope isn't exactly the most useful of rocket artillery. |
If it's a separate tank why not just use the 105?
So Urban Assault can get an entirely new tank and USF finally get their much needed meatshield. |
This is a derivation from the other topic about the dozer upgrade discussion.
My suggestion here is simple, Urban Assault, the new USF Commander, gets a new unique tank in the form of the Bulldozer Sherman which will act as a Sherman Jumbo of sorts, meaning slow as fuck, having a large health pool and somewhat armor similar to the KV1 and Churchill but a shitty 75mm gun without the ability to switch shell types like the regular Sherman. I was thinking of it retaining it's MG upgrade however and perhaps smoke but I'm not so sure.
Of course that would mean the removal of the dozer blade from both the Mechanized Company and the Armor Company's 105 Sherman but it would provide the USF with a meatshield tank to screen for the Jacksons and help infantry push, again similar to the KV1 and Churchill of sorts.
To top things off I think it would solve the issue of people asking Urban Assault receive either the E8 or 76 Sherman and it would be easier to balance in my opinion but I won't comment on that.
That's about it on my part I think, feel free to discuss the idea here. I think this is as close as a meatshield Jumbo kind of tank we're going to get for the USF in this game until they enable model editing and importing which I don't suppose will be soon sadly. |
They're more like a hastily erected dirt barricades than anything else remotely resembling sandbags if you ask me but yes, their model is a bit bigger and they cannot clip through other objects but I still prefer the WFA sandbags. |
An outright Sherman Jumbo I'd get, like a sort of USF KV-1 thing.
As people keep pointing out to me, the Dozer Blade upgrade turns it into a slow premium medium. Does that count?
USF already has the E8 and 76mm gun Sherman as "premium mediums" so I don't think the dozer blade should turn the ordinary 75mm gun Shermans into a slow variant of that.
Just making it into it's own thing without the special ammo and beefing it up a notch to it's a slow meatshield type tank would be the ideal solution to solve the Urban commander's lack of a unique tank and the USF's lack of a meatshield in general.
Just call it a Bulldozer Sherman (defacto Jumbo in-game) and be done with it. |
The design philosophy on the new Panzerfusiliers is they're an alternate opening: weaker than Volks out the gate but with stronger scaling.
The Dozer Blade though? No idea. I personally don't think it should be in Urban Assault or Mechanized: I'd rather give Urban Assault a proper premium medium tank and Mechanized's got enough in it already.
That's a minority opinion though, so I'll just have to get used to it.
A Meatshield tank works tho both thematically and functionally. You want your most tough tank spearheading the assault which includes towns as well. |
Hmmm. Then i guess churchill is not a heavy tank. You learn something new every day.
Churchill is indeed classified as a Heavy tank altho the Brits called it an infantry such. Comet is not however, neither in game or in real life.
The funny story about the Panther was that it was considered as a heavy tank by the Allies but a medium by the Germans. |
215 armor and 720HP is premium medium territory, not Churchill's.
Have you guys discussed the USF Churchill route? Sort of expensive, slow, big hp pool and a bit better armor, shittier main gun. Again like it was mentioned before the 76 version of the Sherman could be used but in my opinion it should have some changes to the model to denote it's uparmoured status as well apart from just the icon. |
