I think is needs more frontal armor and a smaller hit-box.
It's Hetzer-Time, baby.
180 armor seems enough, and in general I doubt you can balance effectively a non-heavy tank with armor. A smaller hit-box could be good but rely more on RNG than actual player micro, that's why I prefer acc/decc buff which reward micro more than luck |
Does the Stug E have any redeeming qualities, really? Whenever I glance at Mechanized Assault (the original Assault Grenadier doctrine), I feel disappointed by this thing. If anything, it should be equivalent to the ZiS Gun in its barrage and according to the stats posted above it does less for dramatically more.
StugE is not the main topic but you're right, but I believe that it is the Zis gun which is overperforming for a secondary role. |
Hello,
As a second part to an old previous post about the FlammPanzer Hetzer from the FeuerSturm commander, we pretty much all agreed that this tank has a weird place among the OKW due to its timing (much later than the Luch and a little bit earlier than the P4) making it a poor choice.
There is a lot of different directions to improve it, we could improve its stats or its timing or even both at the same time. But when we look at it we only see that the main problem is survivability due to the lack of turret and poor timing.
So I believe the cost/stats are good as they are and the only 2 problems which needs to be adress are timing and mobility (mainly timing).
I propose to make it a call-in unit at 5CP and give it a little bit of Acc/decc buff.
(5CP call-in purpose is mainly to allow player to overcome techtree necessity with poor design as we all know, based on the Ost-Puma and Ost-StugE timing) |
Zis gun shot like the Stug E but with better AOE profile, no friendly fire, and with a rate of fire 3 times faster (and with 80 range against 50), so for an early unit, there might be a problem. |
Its soo easy to dismiss your opponent as rage isnt it? Youre a terrible person
There is something wrong with this sentence, but I can't put my finger on it. |
Not so bad idea, with a special treatment for the Tiger Ace because if the Tiger is OK, the Ace is garbage.
+ if we can make a damage engine stop ram + Disable ramming possibility in order to stop the almighty ram+Il-2 bombing would be a step forward for heavy viability. |
Why would you go for heavies which needs to be babysit because of their mobility and price while you can go for less expensive and more specialized units which cost less and do a better job without being a enormous slow target to any dumb combo such has ram+IL2 bombing.
As soon as going for sherman+jackson or stug+ostwind become less risky and more cost-efficient, don't expect anyone to gamble all their ressources into a slow turtle unit which can be destroyed with 2 clicks.
For you it is just a cornerstone, but for many it was a keystone which holds everything together and around which you build your army and attacks.
Both vision are legit but only one brings heavy to the meta.

Right after giving self-propeled gun like the Hummel and reduce the scatter of the panzerwerfer, yes. |
Crew is already a aberation from a balance point of view: you litteraly have the same powerful tank as everyone (even arguably better for the sherman) for the same prize and you also receive a free repair ability which also allow you to cheat the popcap.
And pershing still have the almighty 0.75 moving accuracy in addition to a relativily good mobility for an heavy which lead it to a more medium tank playstyle.
And yes, it is an at most OK-tank, but that's true for every heavies since the patch. |
Heavies got destroyed, and so does the pershing, and when the heavies became useless, rocket arty took their place as an area denial.
All heavies need a slight buff/nerf-revert on their AOE. |
