Stop digging a bigger hole for yourself mate. DPS means everything and frailty means nothing if you spawn them in the rear of your opponents line
Hey mate, well let's see what happens when you take your 1 jackson and pop it out and flank behind 1 tiger and still see if dmg means everything????
Realistically though, there are numerous counters to stopping them behind the lines.
1.) Mines in front of doors
2.) Minefields on back Points
4.) Get a Flame Half track to cover your backfield.
5.) Get obers, they will win if you don't let them close |
It takes a special kind of stupid not to realise that popping a very inexpensive squad with 2 times more dps then falls next to okw.ost units is a massive balance issue. slash their dps in half and they still would be very dangerous.
Well it takes a special kind of stupid to realize that straight DMG from guns is not everything. Falls are stronger and can faust and throw charges as well. It's like a partisan and tank hunter built into one.
Partisans are like paper, but actually have a decent gun now. Before they were like RET's |
Merge them with cons = profit
Unfortunately it's good on paper, but no one does it simply because of the micro required. Good idea though.........hehe |
I know, we'd never thought for once in the entire history of CoH where partisans would actually get a thread on balance because of how they used to be mediocre then garbage for a long while.
But with the recent changes, the partisan DPS seems pretty ridiculous for what you get and when you can get them. It may be my overreaction, but their shock value is insane. If I'm looking at the stats right in the editor, they dish out 21 DPS up to 10m before drastically dropping like most SMGs.
Yes, they form the backbone of that particular doctrine, but a 1CP unit that dishes out more DPS than shocks that spawns from structures for around 210mp and has camo? Did someone paradrop the old UKF commandos onto the Eastern Front and made them dress up as partisans or something?
Unless they become very costly to the point where they become one-trick ponies which is never good for any unit, I think the DPS levels should at least be lowered to 13 minimum or so which is similar to the Guard PPSH given the cost of the unit.
They are OP because they actually have a purpose and you can't find their VERY obvious flaws? Midgame they are garbage. They are only good when you pop them out as a surprise attack. Once they retreat, and have to start going from the front, it's just a manpower waste. I believe it's something like 35 manpower just to reinforce them, which they die very easily, and not counting the manpower to call in. All while you can get a conscript squad for 20 more manpower that have more utility. All I see now is them actually having a chance as a viable commander. If you are a good axis player, you will make them pay for their commander choice. Put mines in front of doors, boom, no more issue. Or build obers, minefields in back, or mg in back, doing so cripples their only use as the commander. PPSH's were trash before, again at least they can do something now. doubling the dmg isn't that big of a deal when it was nothing before. |
Alright I will be the first person to ever say this but the new partisans are OP. I've been using the for the past few games and they are monsters.
They are too cheap for how effective they are, only 210 manpower. They consistently kill ass grens and sturmpios, and with vet the become monsters. I think the performance may be fine, but they definitely need to be at least 250 manpower.

Move it to tier 3 OR make it actually a usefull tier 4 tank by replacing it with a t34-85, and then putting the t34-76 as a cheap call in instant build for those commanders that originally had the t34-85 imo. |
I agree and disagree with some things. But what I do agree with is Panther's front armor is ridiculous. Honestly as an allied player I rather face a Tiger than a Panther. Because if you play against a good axis player all they have to do is put obers in front of a panther and win. AS LONG as they don't let that panther's side armor show. Panther front armor just always bounces or does minimal dmg. A Tiger can't compare to a panthers front armor in this game imo. It's bad against infantry, but what axis player doesn't support their panther with their infantry?
As USF for example all you get is paper troops and paper jacksons. All it takes is one sneaky camo'ed rocket whefer to take em out. |
There basically LMG42's you can give to any of your squads, so no.
If you played more than one match, you would understand that it's not "basically LMG42's". LMG42 is better than it by far (without the defensive stance). Given to any troops is the counter weight you're basically saying??? THERE IS ONLY ONE TROOP to pick from as allies. Unless you are referring to the RE's lol. |
Fellow axis players crying about churchhills makes me cringe. Jesus, play allies once in a while. How did they ever deal with axis super tanks? If you're losing to basic AI, you need to redo your strat.
It's called combined arms, something axis is not use to doing, devs don't mention it much, but you SHOULD be doing.
Lay MINES, Panzerfaust, AT, combine that with your panthers. I see so many bad axis (that have great stats) players still rush panthers to allied bases. WHY??? Use it like a jackson and you won't regret it.
You have all the same tools that allies have, just better versions of it. More expensive? Yes, but they live longer and do better. Combine that with good micro, a churchill is toast.
You can't just build 3 AT guns, blob them together, and expect to win like axis always use to do. The game is actually somewhat balanced now. And I don't even play British, and I play a lot of OKW as well as the allied factions. So I'm quite unbiased.
Just because there is change, doesn't mean the game is unbalanced. You just need to learn to adapt, otherwise yeh...everything will seem OP. |
They should of left the assault rifles on the partisans, and actually make them worth the manpower. At least they will be able to fight something, their counter is the fact there is only 4 of them, and they are like paper. It would actually make the commander viable. |
