Maybe they could use target tables so as to not 1-shot trucks, but other than that I think the ability is completely fine. It is a big muni investment and the delay is incredibly long. It really can't reliably hit anything unless your opponent is a timing god and catches multiple retreating squads or retreating engine damage vehicles, and at that point it's just an outplay honestly. |
Ami's casting was great, especially considering the sheet amount of hours he had to put in both casting and organizing this weekend. Sure, he may have gone off rails at times with zoom-ins and German lessons but you can't expect a guy to be laser-focused for like 11 straight hours. All games are uploaded anyway so you can always go back and re-watch for those details.
The one thing I agree with is the grind however, feels like we got robbed of some great play because of it. Maybe we could have had only one 4v4 game and the first couple of rounds on Saturday? |
Well, that is pretty good summary of the way the winds are blowing in the balance forums but I'm not sure it's all that accurate. Forum warriors are a fickle bunch and tend to both exaggerate changes and be the most vocal about it.
Some examples:
- UKF sniper is useful but situational
- M15 AA HT is marginally better but still not a good purchase in most cases
- OH mortar is still ok, but situational
- OKW is not the weakest faction, it's getting picked plenty as having decent success in OCF |
Honestly my advice would be to forget the AA HT and instead go for an M20 if you plan on going LT first. The M20 comes out way earlier and has a good window to do enough damage to put both OKW and OH on the backfoot, which means you go into the early-mid game with a map control and resource advantage if you play your cards right. From there you can get a captain to keep 222/puma/whatever at bay while giving yourself access to pack howie (very strong this patch,) AT gun, and stuart which can be all useful in different ways. |
I don't think CAS is OP, but it is very much still viable. I like to have the option to play without vehicles and punish blobbers. It plays completely different than most all commanders while still being viable, something we need more of in this game to be honest. |
Should have waited a few more minutes before posting this lol |
Why ban commanders and not just the problem units in those commanders? Folks practising with rifle company for weeks just to have it banned right before tourney, gg relic. Watch the weekend be decided by leigs and buggy grenades lol |
In OCF if you must play only 1 game and its game as germans and it is agains as good pononet as you , you will lose , no way.
Pretty sure mirror matches are actually enabled for the qualifier round. |
It's got a lower ROF than the Pack Howi and less AoE. The trade off the Pack Howi makes for (slightly) higher scatter and lower range is having a much better RoF and better AoE.
Both units are in a good place right now.
Not sure if I agree. The new unit suppression on both units is extremely frustrating to play against. The reason people are complaining only about leig and not the howie is because the howie typically comes out later, is harder to double up on, and axis doesn't have as much of a manpower bleed (or emplacement) problem that makes leig so useful. Can't always look at units 1v1 in a vacuum imo, as they fight completely different armies. |
Recoilless Rifles were basically portable direct-fire artillery, I think the idea of essentially an AI Bazooka is a bit too strong. It doesn't fit in CoH2 any more than units automatically throwing Grenades do, and I think even those could work under the right circumstances (RE Fighting Position).
They were exactly like you described, an accurate and portable anti-infantry mini-bazooka. Sounds extremely OP when you say it out loud but I'm sure they could find ways to balance it. First it'd take up 2 models to operate, probably be capped at 1 per squad, be behind a doctrine, and cost a lot of munis. Anyway, this is 100% wishful thinking on my end lol. |
