Did not read whole tread, but it seems to me like people expect that one HMG should counter whole USF army and their blobs should win man fight with rifle blobs with ease.

Rifle flamers may or not may be op, rifle vet 3 may or may not be over the top, but blobs? You can counter them if you know whats you doing and then punish hardcore with newly buffed panzerwerfers and plenty of other stuff.

Exactly. Vet 3 flame rifles could end up being too strong, sure. The last thing you'd want to do is blob them however. If are you playing against 4+ vet 3 flame rifles you should be happy your opponent is dumb enough to keep them in one place.

First impressions:
- Partisans are awesome, finally
- Pretty sure volks nades are bugged, no wind up time and no fuse doesn't seem right
- leig > brits. Rip emplacements
- really hate the new suppression of pack howie and leig, basically insta-pin
- BARs and Thompson buffs seems marginal. Still no reason to get them over flame rifles or lmg in paratroopers imo, but I guess it's nice to have the option
- have to get used to non-bugged grens again, losing early engagements as OH constantly lol

Typically I've tried one of 50. cal/1 pack howie (or both,) and some sort of vehicle to kite it around since anyone shreck blobbing typically tunnel-visions on your m20/stuart/aaht/sherman and ignores the other threats. It works pretty well as long as you have decent positioning and keep up with the micro.

Lately I've been experimenting with Airborne since it is my favorite commander and I've had success with lmg paratroopers + pathfinders and pathfinder-crewed 50.cal. Jury is still out so I'm not sure if I'd recommend it.

By far the most satisfying counter is demo charges. It's situational and doctrinal but baiting/predicting a blob into a demo is one of the most satisfying things you can do in this game lol.

I don't play the faction enough to go into a big list of specifics like Alex but I don't agree that OKW is conceptually poorly designed. The original outline of the faction seems to be of this fuel-starved, late-war western front fighting force scrapping to get by while simultaneously switching between very aggressive offensives and constantly being pushed back further and further into Germany.

In practice however some of the design choices are questionable at best. I'd much rather do away with the resource income penalty and instead increase costs of units and upgrades to make up for it. I think that would actually give the player the option to either go on the offensive or turtle for the big units instead of relying on cheesy infantry blobs and/or a single game-changing ST/Panther/KT. The 5 vet system is also pretty dumb. I can see what they were going for (young/untrained forces losing out early eventually become grizzled/fanatical defenders,) but in practice it pretty much means you have to stall the game to get most out of your units.

There seems to be a huge disconnect between what the faction is suppose to be with the reality of the gameplay, highlighted most recently by that ridiculous "know your faction" infograph.

If you are that behind TA comes out too late to be your comeback king anymore.

Care to explain why? There are plenty of units in the game from all factions are are either completely useless or severely limited and situational. TA is very situational sure, but so what? It is a cheesy unit behind a commander, not everything can be meta. Relic has made purposeful progress away from the heavy tank meta, with the design goal of promoting combined arms and smaller vehicle play.

Like Imagelessbean said, TA has its uses. Just don't expect to be a good choice in all cases.
