Thread: This automatch System HAS to be changed22 Sep 2015, 20:55 PM I agree that the player base is too small not to have some big skill gaps in auto-matching, even in 1v1. In my opinion the skill gap from the top 10-20 players to top 200 or so is actually pretty big. Just look at the winning % of players at the top - 80-95% win rates are absurd in an Elo system. In games with large player bases like SC2 even the top of the ladder that literally plays the game for a living generally stay around in the 60-70% range. That being said, I agree that its best they play each other (rather than the top folks having to sit in queue for 45 minutes waiting for one of 30 or so people that could give them a good game.) No way to fix it without a larger/healthier player base. In: Lobby

OKW has enough manpower float that an increase of cost would be totally fine if the unit was more useful. No idea why they lowered the reinforcement cost of elite infantry last patch either, manpower drain was never a problem and I would have preferred a tiny (5% even) buff to received accuracy over lowered reinforcement costs. I disagree with a lot of the rest however. JLI and Fuss are awesome and obers (while expensive) have a place in most matches. Yea they can't 1v2 or handle shocks up close but that is not how you should be playing. If you have problem with con blobs just get a leig, it's very good this patch. The 5 veterancy system and fuel penalty, as questionable as they are as design choices, are core mechanics and will not be changed. The game is not moving towards symmetrical balance and if they changed that they'd have to re-balance literally every OKW unit, it'd be a balance nightmare. As a final note, there are way too many doom-and-gloom posts in this thread and forums in general. Some dude suggested increasing KT damage to 400 and you suggested completely removing the fuel penalty ffs. OKW is poorly designed imo but far from being unable to compete. Just look at OCF - folks are picking OKW and having way more success with it than USF or the poor Brits. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Sturzdorf22 Sep 2015, 04:29 AM I really like the look of the map, it's a nice change of pace from the rest of the map pool. Gotta agree with the fact the house by the south fuel is way too strong a position, pretty much forces the game to be played on the south side of the map instead of evenly split. I know it's very hard to balance asymmetrical maps but they could do a better job making people play the whole map by making the cutoffs more accessible. In: COH2 Gameplay

I mean, Shocks OP - not cool. Partisans OP - not cool. But an MG shooting from one base to another? Ridiculous. Yea Relic's over-buffing and over-nerfing track record is pretty bad but at least excusable as a game of numbers and not enough testing/small sample sizes. Bugs like the vickers are completely inexcusable however, they even had word on the issue before the patch went live and still did not fix it. That's what you get when you outsource your QA, probably a handful of underpaid folks several time zones away that have never touched the game instead of a proper in-house team working with the devs. In: Lobby
