I mean I totally agree that HGB aren't in any way optimally designed and a relic of original Brit design but at this point they aren't a problem and in fact are hardly ever used. The effort to tinker with them and monitor the changes are FAR more time intensive than keeping an eye on theoretical "it's marginally more easy to smoke and nuke things in the late game" concerns. If anything changing them will make them more prevalent and game breaking than they are currently or will be after the patch. In: Lobby

Stormjäger Just lock out gammon bombs from pyrotechnics sections or remove gammon bombs from hammer and replace it with something else. I think removing them from pyrosections (or shared cooldown with smoke) is the simplest solution here. Otherwise this doesn't really change much from status quo where you can easily build a mortar pit and smoke half the map with it's range and do the same thing. Same thing with Commando smoke raid and it's not like heavy gammon bomb cheese is a thing right now aside from highly ranked players using them against T4 trucks where we're talking 3 sections, 150 munitions and coordination with smoke. It's not easy to pull off and pyro smoke at best makes this slightly easier at the cost of additional munitions. Though I think it would be cool if they changed HGB to be a section upgrade and buffed it to be like a AT satchel or otherwise changed it to make it less severely situational and utterly useless as a snare as intended. Otherwise Axis players can just you know... not leave bunkers and trucks left alone to be assaulted with HGB. In: Lobby
Thread: Winter balance (1/2020) feedback - UKF22 Feb 2020, 17:36 PM +1 to the idea of HQ glider having some other buildable unit than commandos. It's a very no brain pick right now. Some kind of Pathfinder or Commando with Elite Piats and AT mines would be something different. Also, could we please add fixing Hold the Line to the scope. With the Tank Hunter changes Special Weapons is finally looking viable and that would help a lot In: Lobby

That's on top of destroying cover. Penal SVTs are better than the guards mosin so why not build those instead of making guards a worse clone of penals? Guards have "Elite" PTRS that are much better than Penal PTRS when it comes to AI if I remember correctly. But I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near Mosin damage. It's an interesting idea but it really gives you no reason not to spam guards when they are already pretty good out the gate at AI since the LMG is usually an instant upgrade. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Assault Guards M5 HT18 Feb 2020, 22:09 PM If anything I would say just move it to 2 CP like the OST equivalents and lock Meatchopper behind T3. THe problem for me is the timing of the call-in where 3 CP usually means you have enough infantry and the Guards just put you over the top with manpower bleed (their Veterancy could probably be reworked to help them as well if we're being honest). Thread: Ostheer Puma changes18 Feb 2020, 20:55 PM Other- I'd vote to have a separate "Puma Tech" (akin to UKF AEC) attached to Tier 2 building with a buildable Puma. Adjust teching times and Puma cost according so that it arrives around desired timing. This eliminates any "Panic Puma" cheese and makes it more of a thoughtful choice. Personally I don't see Puma spam by itself as an issue and any synergy with Command P4 requires further tech so allowing more than one 1 Puma should be fine. In: COH2 Balance

Not ~90% DPS retention good but nothing besides the G43s are like that so that shouldn’t be your base of comparison. Exactly. And that’s why airlanding officer wouldn’t be crazy oppressively strong or anything. I think they should lose the ability to pick brens up from racks though, because with them they might be too good in the lategame. Also, I’ve said it before but 35 mp is a pretty high reinforce cost for an assault unit that isn’t super standout great in any regard right out the gate. From what I've seen testing myself it doesn't look like Airlanding officer gets elite Brens like Commandos (oversight or intentional I don't know). If that's the case then I don't see any point in getting Brens on him anyway- then he just has the same problem that Sappers with Brens have where you are dumping munis to slightly improve yourself at a range where the squad is super inefficient. Thread: Ass gren buff14 Feb 2020, 15:17 PM Early lower RA would be a baaaad idea IMO. They already dominate mainline infantry early on if you use them properly (IE don't charge in from long distances). If you lower RA at Vet 0 they become a lot more oppressive vs. Tommies and Conscripts particularly. In: COH2 Gameplay
