So the Brummbar isn't cost effective as an Ostwind, a well balanced unit. Hence you're saying the Brum is not a cost effective unit making T4 the paper tiger that it is right now.
Or conversely it just means Ostwind is a little overtuned. They are somewhat different beasts with Ostwind really excelling at consistent damage over time and chasing down units while the Brumbar is more sturdy and good at splash nuking. It doesn't mean the Brumbar is bad - just that the Ostwind is more accessible (esp. in 1v1) It's like how T70s are really good AI but that doesn't mean that other Soviet Vehicle AI isn't worthwhile in other circumstances. |
Brummbar still basically 2 shots infantry and even a glancing single hit will force a retreat because it leaves all the models with basically 0 health so yeah, it's still "perfectly fine". I think the issue is mostly how the Ostwind is much more cost-effective to use and comes in a lower tier- Brumbar itself functions perfectly fine. |
"anticipation of upcoming heavy tank nerf" is this confirmed or just OP's conjecture?
@ OP - Breakthrough is straight nerf to doctrine by removing Fussies
- Making Command Panther an allrounder seems like a really bad idea when is already has tons of utility with aura, mark vehicle, and good sight
- Elite Armor does need buffed but it's pretty hard to balance Sturmtiger to be useful without being cancerous . Removing 221 doesn't sound appetizing to remove a unique unit just to get a stock OST unit... Maybe a side upgrade where 222 becomes available if Mechanized is deployed?
- The rest isn't too bad... I do agree on principle that Grand Offensive is pretty much in a class of it's own when compared to other commanders (though that's not to say that a good number of them aren't viable to use) |
what do I do about the puma?? Keep it behind at gun???
As long as you keep Conscripts around for AT Nade you can effectively zone Puma away - ideally you won't be too aggressive with the M5 since you'll be using it for crowd control if you opponent is somewhat telegraphing his avenues of attack. As long as you don't overextend it then Puma shouldn't be able to chase it down. |
Generally suppression works well because Falls spammers just a-move them in a blob - just don't leave a maxim by itself because it'll get deathlooped by the blob you'll want something spotting for it and/or drawing fire away from it. M5 with Quad upgrade is pretty good in the midgame too if you're good with keeping it alive. Additionally Falls spam is very manpower expensive so if you can force them to take a lot of damage from mortars/T70 and the like then you'll eventually bleed them dry.
Key is to really not take bad engagements where you let them focus fire down individual units. Just let them A move into your units behind green cover and then pick them apart with suppression and indirect fire. |

Thank you for posting this. I've always felt like PF grenades were weaker than the Feurstorm Volks. IMO This is one inconsistency that should be fixed. |
Other than high level 2v2 tournament play where ATs coordinate recon + offmanps to deny howies and such I don't see how Major Recon is that game breaking. Your average player (almost everyone really) never rebuilds the major once he dies and that's not even mentioning that fact that almost everyone seems to forget the Major even has the ability. |
it is true that the 17pdr is BS strong since it is nondoc, has brace, has flares and can shot through shotblockers with some muni...it is a better pak43 which need no doc
Meanwhile 17 pounder requires fuel and requires micro and munitions to use the piercing shots otherwise if you place it behind a shotblocker its 100% useless waste of popcap and resources. But yeah you're 100% right at least on flares, totes OP plznerf |
Rebalancing TDs is tricky because of all the knock-on effects when you consider that Allies have to deal with KT, JT, and Ele plus stock armor that gets pretty decent armor buffs with Vet (so you would expect allied TD vet to have corresponding Pen bonuses to match). If you remove Pen Vet then Axis skirt bonus are that much more of a power spike. You also forgot to mention that Firefly has Tulips, which should be factored in. Don't fix what isn't broken I would say... |
I'm pretty sure Falls have longer range fausts than Volks too so that's pretty cool. It made more sense when they were so prohibitively expensive and came so late but after the rework they could probably stand to lose them or get something else. |
