It does to Relic - it's clearly a kneejerk reaction to meta of Calvary Rifles and Flamer M3 (though 250HT should definitely be included for Infantry Doctrine cheese). M5 isn't a super concern but I agree should probably be included for consistency and for silly things like Bazooka bus which while not super meta probably shouldn't be as good at hunting light tanks. It's a great change regardless because honestly clown car run-downs are pretty cancerous. In: COH2 Balance

IMO, it's the timing of Bolster that should've been looked at, instead of the UC. +1 While UC can be fairly oppressive in the early game early Vickers at least delays healing and has a shorter window of opportunity before 222s or Raketens(if not preemptively built) hit the field. Delaying Vickers just further closes that window. Meanwhile early Bolster just snowballs HARD as you lose consecutive infantry engagements and AEC shuts down LV counters. The salt in the wound is that only way your infantry scales to match is munitions which I feel doesn't ramp up as fast compared to a 35 fuel early investment that pays itself off with better map control. Thread: "Cover to Cover" to "Fire Up"30 Apr 2019, 18:27 PM I also wanted Fire Up in the new commander (no exhaustion and bundled with Flares). I think it's just more intuitive to use without having to worry about placing the smoke and then making sure your Rifles are in radius AND then microing multiple squads (or just making a lame sprint blob). I mean new abilities are nice but this one feels forced for the sake of new abilities. I suppose another option is the make the Sprint part of a per unit upgrade and call it "Urban Assault Training" and bundle it with something else. In: Lobby
Thread: CoH3 will be MODERN WARFARE ??????30 Apr 2019, 16:34 PM Cold war gone hot would be pretty interesting- if anything to have different factions squaring off against each other for a change. As different as something like African theater would be you're still stuck with Germany vs. Allies. (Italy might be different but I have a hard time thinking it'd be much different unit wise). Throwing a new faction like China into the mix would be much more fresh and interesting. In: Lobby

Thread: Addressing some of the issues with Mechanised26 Apr 2019, 19:40 PM I think if you remove the vehicle crews from dodge truck then you can balance it out with a UC self repair type ability. That way you force the USF player to either use a RE or burn munitions to keep it repaired and applying pressure (which in turn delays Thompsons). That way you nerf the insane Calvary Dodge combo without completely making it useless with good micro. In: COH2 Balance

Maybe in team games if someone goes 2X sniper and you have to avoid having to retreat after one volley but if you need a 5th man to avoid sniper wipes then you're doing it wrong. Thread: Sections need their out of cover stats reverted26 Apr 2019, 15:07 PM I'd be in favor of locking Bolster behind tech - I was even considering making a thread suggesting T2 lock as an option. I just feel like the combination of the early power spike and fast teching of the Brits can make it difficult to counter. As far as I can see early bolster and ignoring weapon racks is very meta to the point of suggesting bolster might be too good. Speaking of which, Brens and Grenades would still provide early upgrades for Brits so I don't see a reason why Bolster has to be available early for them to be a competitive faction. Likewise Brit fast teching means that if a player wanted to fast bolster then it's not out of the question to rush T2 and then bolster before getting first tank. That way a Brit player has to choose between bolster and fast AEC and not just bolster and then immediately get AEC to shut down light vehicles that are primary counter. Just my gut feeling after playing a lot of OST recently and getting matched with a LOT Brits. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Soviet General Faction Changes - New cmdr mod 5.019 Apr 2019, 17:34 PM If the 7 Man Cons don't cut the mustard then why not give the 7th man a PPSH (maybe buffed to closer to Thompson levels?) It would further emphasize their role as troops that do better at closer range while still being slightly better DPS wise. If you wanted to be thematic about it you could have 7th man be a commissar model and have it be squad leader type situation. In: COH2 Balance
