Thread: When are they Going to Fix American Pop Cap Exploit?8 Feb 2016, 04:39 AM From a 1s and 2s perspective if you're getting beat bad enough that your USF opponent can use the Vehicle Crew pop cap "feature" then you you are probably going to lose regardless. I assume it can happen in 3s and 4s more often where stalemates will lead to USF players using the extra pop cap on Priests and Callopies - but its not enough of an issue to justify Relic fiddling with Vehicle Crews seeing as how they balance based on smaller game modes. Once you give them two bloody shrecks, they become nigh useless against anything except for vehicles, which limits utility. So, the question here really is should upgrades actually be "upgrades", or simply specializations, because that's what they are right now. Even then, I would be happy with that, all factions could do it, not just the Wehrmacht. Wouldn't it add some tactical utility and depth to the game? That's pretty much how it is now. Double PIATs or Double Zooks and that equipped infantry takes a similar AI hit. Shrek Volks are more or less the same deal (except the AI hit isn't really noticeable, and we all know how much everyone loves Volk shrek blobs). Only exception is Soviets unless you count the now useless Tank Hunter Tactics. I fail to see how giving every faction their own version of a Volk Shrek blob would result in gameplay depth, just all the cancer. Maybe maaaaaybe if there was some kind of ISU-152 10 second delay style added to the toggle it might be okay. In: COH2 Gameplay

At weapons are already nearly useless AI, removing the last bit they have really won't change much. Even then, I don't understand how that would be "brainless" and "dull". Its brainless because there would be 0 downside to upgrades and just encourage death blobs even more so than we see today. Think about it - you would have no reason not to spam PZGren Shrek Upgrades. Just keep them toggled off until you see a tank, mass toggle them on and then just 1 volley the tank and then go about your business. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: State of KV15 Feb 2016, 15:08 PM IMO the part of this commander is For The Motherland! - used correctly you can set up some punishing flanks with Shocks due to the extra accuracy and sprint. B4 and KV1 are so-so. Plauger accurately described the KV-1 you don't want to spam them as their main gun sucks (same one as T34 if I'm not mistaken). I mostly use them as a crutch of sorts when I don't have fuel to tech to T4 and need to screen AT Guns/ SU76s. B-4 you need to make good use of your first surprise shot - either gamble on a mass retreat base shot or firing on a tank being repaired. It's better on smaller maps like Semoisky where the smaller size means its more accurate and the fact that the center often becomes a support weapon clusterf*ck the B4 can help you break through. Thread: how to make the t34 76 useful4 Feb 2016, 21:47 PM I don't really like the idea of making 85s non-doc - giving Soviets one of the best medium tanks in the game doesn't seem all that great for balance. Personally I'd rather see T34s get an upgun upgrade where you pay 75 or whatever munitions to get a penetration buff but not the HP buff that the doctrinal 85s get. Still gives you a fairly spamable tank but one that actually scales worth a damn. That and depending on your commander I find that I tend to float munitions when I play Soviet and wouldn't mind somewhere else to spend them other than mines or the shitty IL2 Strafe. I do agree with OPs Ram suggestion though right now its never worth using except in "Garden it, I'm losing the tank anyway" circumstances. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: shreck snipes4 Feb 2016, 20:34 PM OP is talking about this I think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvxEAYSJgyQ Its largely due to squad bunching AND then a lucky RNG model snipe but due to the bunching the AOE wipes the squad (you see in the video 6 con models get killed). I've had this happen to me too - mostly when exiting buildings. Its terribly unlucky but I don't think there is much Relic can do seeing how they they already reduced Zook/Shrek accuracy vs. Infantry. In: COH2 Gameplay

And less expensive. Word. Its annoying because its all or nothing. Either its well screened and annoying as all hell to get rid off due to it's range, power, and brace OR you're playing as Brits and really need indirect fire but can't build the Pit because you either can't afford it or you don't have the map control to realistically protect it. I'd settle for a heavy mortar hybrid unit that was mobile but had a long set-up time. OT I agree with Swiftsabre that just a few tweaks are needs and Brits should be good (I'd toss in base 25 Pounders to the list as well) In: COH2 Gameplay
