Yes, they changed that in a recent patch to "increase the counter-play against Howitzers". Problem is mostly that Lefh is in Ostheer doctrines that are only so-so (same with Soviet ML-20). ML-20 also gets 2-click countered easily by Stuka Bomb drop so a lot of Soviet players don't even bother trying. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Tier 1 Openings 28 Jan 2016, 17:54 PM I know maxim spam has become kind of meta after the Volks buff where its fairly easy to push Con spam off the map now but I was interested in experimenting with Tier 1 openings against OKW (Special Rifle Command). What builds have you all used to some success? Personally I've found that Vet 0 Penals seem to fare better against Vet 0 Volks than Cons and the Scout Car is a bonus to shut down Kubels and harass Volks before Shreks appear (and force him to sink munitions early there). The only downside is that Penals scale like pudding and you have to eventually back-tech for ZIS guns in most cases. Anyway, I was thinking... -> Special Rifle Command Cons Penals Scout Car (Upgrade to Flamer Engi) Cons or Penals Ad-Lib (But Lend-Lease looks appealing to me due to DSHK call-ins filling in for Maxims, especially since their Suppression and Damage is better) Would you bother trying this against Ostheer? Thread: Mine sweepers shouldn't make blobs immune to mines28 Jan 2016, 15:40 PM I agree that Full-Health Squad wipes are an issue (especially if you are mining up cover and the gravitational pull of models seeking cover will suck them all into the mine). All the more reason why nearby squads need protection from minesweepers because otherwise the frequency of squads exploding goes up. The only real time this is a downside is if a player is ubur-blobbing and it totally eliminates one of your counters (as it should) but in my experience those kind of players aren't smart enough to build sweepers lol In: COH2 Balance

"Nyet, they are fascists let them explode" Mittens nailed it though - if other squads can't pass through a detected field then it becomes far too easy to place mines at choke points and then all you have to do it focus down the engineers and it becomes a permanent no-go zone. Think of how easy this would be to do with S-Mines in particular. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Relic pls buff useless things27 Jan 2016, 21:09 PM I agree with most of OPs units. I wouldn't mind if Ass Grens got a buff in exchange for moving them up to 2 CP - otherwise they would be too good of a shock unit right at start methinks. UKF I would say Suxten, Valentine,(Hell, Royal Artillery as a whole), UC, and Base Howies. IS vehicle snare in exchange for toning down AEC would be welcome. Or a PIAT buff (I wouldn't mind an "Aimed Shot" ability that used munitions in exchange for letting you to actually hit a light vehicle.) +1 on Churchill cost decrease it's sooo overpriced and I do think KV1's main gun could use a slight buff. Thread: Dear Relic, please fix match making26 Jan 2016, 16:05 PM Relic really needs to scrap the 0-100 3 Star EXP bar or send out a PSA about how matchmaking works. That being said the matchmaking works more or less fine - if you beat something a lot higher than you than your rank goes up more. If you lose to a terrible scrub then it plummets. The end result is it more or less approximates your skill. 4vs4 is a lot harder to find 8 people of similar rank so you're going to see a wider range of skill across both teams but neither team is likely to be stacked one way or the other (Arranged Team vs. Non-AT notwithstanding). That has more to do with it than anything because the AT will be better coordinated. In: Lobby

Any AT is going to have a good advantage - especially one that knows how to make use of things like Artillery Cover that many/most people would agree needs nerfed. No different then Axis players who abused Stuka CAS when it was the infantry wiper of doom for a bit there. If anything Coh2 charts show Axis with a higher win % in 3s this week and 4s are balanced. Thread: Panzershrek just too accurate26 Jan 2016, 14:12 PM What Luvnest said - OKW just needs to fix the longstanding "Core infantry with Shrek" problem. @ OP I don't think you understand how the game mechanics work - you can't make a Shrek miss once its fired - the hit/miss is already calculated and the rest is just graphics. Other than it hitting a shot blocker of course. Far as T-70 and "weak" tanks go you just need to practice vehicle micro and infantry kiting at max range. Shreks don't have great long range accuracy.
