Thread: Three ways to improve CoH2 from the Open Beta build18 Jun 2013, 18:19 PM Jump back to quoted post18 Jun 2013, 17:15 PMkafrion Not really since you can take only 3 of them at a time and the changes they account for are not that big anyway whats more for germans doctrines have a very small impact on gameplay while for russians you loose whatever strategical advantage you may have since its almost mandatory to use your doctrines early on and even then with linearity of the progression and the lack of impact commanders have it still falls sort of replacing the old system . Granted that they could change it by adding more influencial abilities but they would need to change the whole philosophy behind the new system and i find that highly unlikely . This is a bold statement as you havent seen all the commanders yet, even to the extent you might be able to pick more than 3 commanders for a single game. I dont think the aim is to replace the old system, rather then create a new, more simplistic, system. Still, this RESEMBLES CoH1. In: COH2 Gameplay

Then why do the top 2v2 teams outperform the top 1v1 players when it comes to win streaks and win/loss ratios? Just because you try to brag about how you beat DrHorse in a 2v2 does not mean you will do well versus actual top 2v2 teams. Besides that, 2v2 adds other elements such as teamplay and increased number of engagements to the game. Other games, considerably more competitive when compared to CoH1 and CoH2, take 2v2 quite serious, so why should CoH2 be any different? In: COH2 Gameplay

Because of the way the game is played, your focus is on the enemy units as you micro. Moreover, in teamgames, as you watch the enemy, you wont know who got the xp. The final nail in the coffin is indirect fire, where you are NEVER looking at the firing unit in a real game. The way XP is shown is for good reason. It it irrelevant what unit got the (final) kill. XP matters less to individual units since they gain vet through taking and receiving damage, rather than dealing the (final) blow to an enemy unit. Your overall XP adds up to command points, which are shown in a similar way compared to CoH1. It just requires a little more micro to see what your units are shooting on. Now, this cant be bad for a game with competitive intentions. In: COH2 Gameplay

Presentation is almost as important as the content itself. If you want to get Relic to change things, present your arguments well, otherwise they are not going to take it serious. It should be noted that starting your argument with "your comment fails in almost every way" is a perfect example of a type of phrasing which is not constructive, quite personal and hard to seperate from content. Multiple commanders (>3) partially replace CoH1 commander tree-side decisions, especially when commanders are somewhat similar. Increasing the number of commanders creates more strategic opportunities. This resembles the CoH1 tree-side decision. In: COH2 Gameplay

I would not be impressed either by arguments by people who use words like "egotistical", "cunt" and "fuck", phrases such as "get that idea out of the room and kill it with fire" and comparisons with McDonalds and school experiences. Other than that, the current function of cover during blizzards is disregarded together with the existence of additional commanders, which have not been released yet, creating an alternative for the dual commander tree.
