If I max everything to the max I only get 26fps on the benchmark which is pretty crazy.' - that's a forum post from 2 years and 7 months ago (http://goo.gl/mmM6F7). Skip forward to today and I get 30fps on the benchmark and I have a GTX960/AMD A10-5800k, and that isn't even with everything maxed out. It seems the best way to get this game to run well is to go back in time. If they ever do fix war spoils, we'll have to all try and make sure the next 'big' thing the community moans about is the need for optimisation. In: Hardware and Tech
Thread: COH2 Performance Benchmarked (July 2013)15 Feb 2016, 22:45 PM I'd love to know what has changed to cause a decrease in performance between the game's release and now. The Western Armies certainly cause a performance drop - but why? As you say, Sturm, it's a very complex engine. I've read some articles that explain that despite excellent design the engine does take more of a toll on PCs the longer into a match you get. As all the destruction, footprints, track marks, craters, etc, have to be calculated and rendered constantly. That's apparently why the game doesn't support SLI, the amount of data that would have to be transferred between graphics cards would cause more problems than it would apparently solve. It would be great if someone in the community could create a video, highlighting all the areas in which the game isn't fully utilising the gpu (and cpu). While the FX-8350 performed well, i5 chips such as the i5-3470 gave much more bang, though if you plan to play with maximum quality then your GPU will probably create a bottleneck before your CPU anyway. Unfortunately, we're a little disappointed with the results overall as CoH 2 seems far too demanding for what it is. So even if you had an unlimited budget and created a rig with all the best components currently available, the game would still run very badly relative to the pc running it. Thread: Vote for curated skins in Steam Workshop13 Feb 2016, 15:30 PM The skins are being added to the in-game shop, so I'm sure Relic will be very happy to add as many as possible. To maximise potential earnings. I would be very surprised if they only added one. If anything I suspect they'll add every single skin they can. I just hope the people who actually made them, and thus did all the work, get at least 50% from the sales. Any less and it smacks of exploitation. In: Lobby
Thread: MWNL 39 Feb 2016, 05:04 AM As far as I am aware all you need to do is play at least one automatch game during each day of the event, to be able to claim the Sega stuff or the UKF. It would be great if Relic gave existing owners of the UKF something else, if COH2 wins the whole event.
