The entirety of the game sums up to no talent. The amount of micro mechanics (skill expression) that have been removed/nerfed. The ability to distance yourself from less skilled players is dramatically more difficult. In: COH3 Central |
Thread: I updated my review to positive.18 Sep 2023, 14:57 PM
2v2 gameplay in COH3 is complete trash compared to COH2. For this same reason of spamming mediums. As much as everyone hated the double AT meta / heavy tank meta. This is the result of people complaining about it. Or just being out of touch with the community. Your response is weird. Considering you don’t want to spam mediums? But also don’t want heavy tank meta? Which one? There is no happy in between. If heavies suck – no one will build them, instead they would spam mediums? If heavies are good – everyone will build them. The big problem if they make heavies good in COH3 is the TDs are terrible compared to COH2. Bro just spam 3 hellcats. A good player will have double AT behind the heavy and your hellcats will get one tapped considered Tiger has same range lol. Most people will play to what is the best way to win/easiest to play. Even though the TD/Heavy tank meta in COH2 is annoying. There is a dance of cat and mouse, and it creates intense standoffs. The tension before the big push or the heavies slowly creeping forward. Now it’s blobs of mediums. There is no variety. The role of TD in general has practically been removed from COH3 with range differences being so small its negligible. Especially with momentum and stopping the hellcat is almost always going to get shot in return from the tank shooting. If the enemy tank is driving towards the hellcat. Kitting is not a thing anymore. On top of the Brits don’t even have a TD? It’s opinionated some people prefer this new gameplay. But I feel it’s a lot easier to just overwhelm your opponent now if you have superior numbers in armor. AT guns die almost instantly the minute the tank gets on top of it and with TD’s being essentially removed its pretty easy to just ctr group 2 all your armor and right click behind your opponent’s AT guns. Even more so if they have no armor or they are behind in terms of fuel. In: COH3 Central |

While pointless to deny that COH3 has its fair amount of problems, its hilarious to me how coh2 "e-sport ready APM masturbation" gameplay is even remotely considered to be supperior. CoH2 became poor mans starcraft, like R6S is a poor mans Counter-strike. What are you on dude? Kimbo - low apm Duffman - low apm plenty of top players have LOW APM. The gameplay for COH3 is trash. The average COH enjoyer wants big battles, with cinematic visuals and audio. COH2 retains the higher playerbase 10 months after release of COH3. Whatever COH2 did is objectively better than what COH3 is doing lol. COH3 is the worst game of the 3 and will be for the foreseeable future. With a possibility of never getting better. Less than 2k concurrent players. With single player DLC confirmed for this year and no more major additions to maps. People arent going to come back. COH3 will fade away. Like all the streamers for COH3 did. In: COH3 Central |

Im just going to stop playing the game in general lol. COH3 1v1 is not as fun as COH2 team games. COH3 team games are worse than COH3 1v1s. Ill pass on the game. In: COH3 Central |

Ultimately relics fault yes. Does that make the people on the council blame free? No. We dont know how much influence or how many suggestions were taken from them. For gameplay/balance…etc. On top of any of that if asked they would probably downplay their role based off the current state/launch of the game. I just know from reading that list. That I have heard less than half those names before. On top of names that dont even play this Franchise lol. Or haven’t in a long time. Or consistently in the pass. On top of people like AE being involved who is a glorified anchorman that couldnt win a game against someone who RE spams him in COH2 ( he lacks understanding of gameplay). In: COH3 Central |

The community will never truly find out what the “community council” had input on. But I would love to know. 1. The list of people that were on it. 2. The amount of influence and their suggestions. Especially since people that have no idea about gameplay or unit match ups were on it - AE was on it. Will never understand the need to “get back to COH1” Lower TTK Removing TD roles essentially Huge variations in model health Cover rework against grenades MG suppression mechanic completely changed Snares completely changed Crush being removed Factions missing essential elements again USF with no non doc indirect besides a mortar Brits without a TD The buff to retreating All of these things just make gameplay not fun. They aren’t even balance concerns. Just the gameplay itself is boring, anticlimactic. Most of my complaints probably dont matter to new people or people who barely played COH2 or COH1. But I do not understand people who actively played COH1,COH2 and think COH3 is anything close to its predecessors. Look at the “community” its gone lol. The known streamers are gone. The playerbase is still declining. I can not express to anyone in words. How sad this is. That this franchise is where it is now. I gave COH3 a chance. I played a decent amount of games for all factions. None of those games came close to some of the average, not even good games of COH2 I have had. Being realistic. COH3 will probably not recover. There are way too many good games releasing this winter. For a massive influx of people to comeback. On top of the update cadence that has been shown by Relic. Like people said. After 10 months. There will only be 2 new 4v4 maps. Not even talking about missing elements just maps. I think its okay to say. I wish COH3 never released. At least then the franchise would be remembered for being good while it lasted. Not an utter clusterfuck. That it is now. In: COH3 Central |

You disagree with the skill ceiling being lowered but provided no argument of how it isn’t lower? Besides your blerp about late game TTK being okay. I didn’t say a higher or lower TTK is better. Just that it lowers the skill ceiling. My playstyle has nothing to do with what I said either. I just said. Lower TTK = less room for more skilled players to grow. Like I said the biggest indication of it being lowered is just units overall, including vehicles die slower/have more health. Which means its easier to not lose squads/vehicles. Which is probably one of the biggest ways to lose a game in COH. The health for tanks, and tank gameplay is also opinionated. Some people like the snare rework along with mediums. I personally don’t find enjoyment in people using tanks haphazardly and not being punished for it. For better or worse that is. The game is getting better with patches. As it they break something every time one drops. But still a long way away from being good. Nevertheless, I feel a lot of the shock and awe (big wipes) moments have been removed. For better or worse. No more insane rocket arty wipes. Or wipes on retreats, or armor engagements. Feels most engagements extend past what they should be with the units involved. But that’s my opinion. Not saying I’m right. In: COH3 Central |

Slow TTK might not be a “problem” but it definitely discourages tactical gameplay. Removing time as a priority in a strategy game weakens the importance of it. Examples – You rush two squads at 1 squad to try and force a fast retreat. With lower TTK you can save the situation by kiting the 1 squad back to another squad and salvage the situation. Same thing goes with fighting out of cover. Less importance on cover because the squad dies slower overall. These are just a few examples but can be applied to many situations that don’t reward timing pushes/flanks etc.. Losing a medium in COH2 in less than 3 seconds does suck. That’s correct. Maybe don’t drive into 2 At guns? Maybe use combined arms to properly scout ahead before driving a tank solo into the fog of war? The developers making everything easier to keep alive, is again a gameplay opinion on what’s preferred. I personally find no enjoyment in my opponent doing something dumb and getting away with it. Like why shouldn’t you lose a tank if you blindly drive into the fog of war into my 2 AT guns? In COH2 blobs can work. Until you lose your entire army to rocket artillery. You can even thin out blobs with proper use of cover/mines. Because COH2 units out of cover actually drop models. It’s insane. There is no late game blob deterrent in COH3. There is no wipe potential equivalent in COH3 as in COH2. Which encourages blobbing. Because there is no justice against it. Like I said higher TTK might not be a “problem” but it 100% lowers the skill ceiling of an RTS (Real Time Strategy). You are giving people more time to react to situations that are advantageous to your opponent and detrimental to you. It’s not subjective, its objective. In: COH3 Central |
