it would be good if the game told you if one of your units is under attack in the same way vcoh informed y about units sniped , cause now i may move to another point of the map only to find my tank destroyed a couple of seconds later , also the criticals are way too stupid , mortars damaging tanks ? damaged engine on the second shot ? firepits doing temporary damage to tanks this last one is completely wtf how on earth some burning pieces of wood can damage a tank ?? Other than that , i see some people wanting to nerf the soviet at , su barages , to what end ?? half the time they miss without fow and when they land the damage they do is meh at best |

Alpha was unplayable for me on lowest settings on my desktop. Beta is playable though a bit laggy on lowest settings for my laptop. The power difference between them is pretty big, so I take beta as a big improvement.

It would be good if you would explain why you find it fun, entertaining, and intense compared to the original CoH. To me, the reduced number of cutoffs and the relatively lower importance of fuel + munitions points makes things less fun (because each game becomes more monotonous - the fights over points other than VPs aren't as intense), less entertaining (see above) and less intense (see above).
that was exactly what i thought when i read his post , maybe he hasnt played vcoh all that much MVGame + that the fixed pop and mp income and their separation from the sector system just makes for dumbing down strategy in the late game |
Are we playing the same game? PGrens beating guards? The only time that would happen was if PGrens were in cover and the guards charged them and got a crit on the way in. Guards win every single other time.
That's assuming both are Vet 0 of course.
i think he means that pgren can win and quickly vet up with bundlenade , which currently must be the number one cause of deaths in coh2 |
Fyi, all 'strategic points' give ammo and fuel. I don't really mind that change. Already getting used to it. As long as they keep in the cut-off mechanic we'll be alright.
i think if each strategic point gave sth like 20 mp as well with the opportunity of giving 40 with an OP then we d see a vast improvement . |
agreed its just a bad system , imo it has been implemented to even out the differences between good players (vcoh veterans ) and bad players (novices ) for the first few months, lets hope that as the majority of the playerbase gets better at the game poeple will want a fix . Just a suggestion for it will be supply yard upgrades , germans will upgrade them from hq much like the 2 sy uprades , while soviets will have them at each building and they will affect only the units produced by the building . their effectivenss will be a 30% reduction of upkeep . It should be coupled with an added mp bonus from sectors lets say 16mp for strat points and 8 for ammo/fuel points . |
nice strat , although i think that the is2 commander with practically all of the abilities it offers and guard motor coordination tactics with mortars , atgs and conservative t34 or agressive penal battalion play can put a dent in to it since they dont require especially a lot of time to tech up to the needed units , you may want to incorporate this strategy to the commander with the mht , since the mht would provide a better substitute for the mortar and sniper and the osttroops could provide the elements for a counter attack after a heavy infantry battle and afterwards used as canoon fodder while your mht deals damage and the rest of your troops reinforce and mine up the field for the impending attack . |
I told before, i get 80 fps at start, when whole game loads up at maximum settings. First 3v3 i played i got no single lag same as my team due of my or anybody performance. Just loading is long, because, dont know why-again ugly textures, it takes over 4gb of ram to laod stuff.
UP: I get no lag, because you have 8gb of ram. HD5850 is at performance of HD 6870 and its OC version with extra 10% perf boost due of regular hd5850. And i play only 1280x1024 on 19' screen.
as people have said it is beta and from what i ve heard they have already done lots of changes some of which will not make it to the beta , perhaps they are optimisation changes , other than that i am no expert by any means but what if you lowered you r settings ? Maybe that could help getting better performance , i remember in coh when there were in game notifications that some other players settings are too high and are lagging the game and it was a frustrating experience . Also what is your timeline ?? Maybe when your playing there are just not enough players and thats why the mm is bad for you . |
