Are you also using the cone AoE that starts on the firing entity, or just a circular AoE at the impact point? Asking because I noticed the option for the former exists, but Relic doesn't use it, and was curious if you were and how it was working out. |
Problem is that the spawner extension on a building points to specific squads, not a randomized container of squads.
Agameanx on the old CoH1 modding forums at relicnews came up with a solution back then that was heavy on SCAR, wherein you would place dummy squads into the spawner, and the SCAR would detect them being bought and replace them with one or more different squads.
Aside from that complex solution, an ability on the building that randomly spawns your squads is the only way. |
Still progressing!
Our delay is due to realizing we had to rework our initial UI, both for future-proofing it and to make it fit with how different Nations were organized within our game. That and it didn't look all that great and had some flow issues.
One feature that won't make it until our first release, but will be eventually down the road, is a lot of Help and Information buttons through-out our UI. The Information buttons will give you a pop-up with details on the particular unit, vehicle, weapon, or item you're currently looking at, as well as drawing data straight from our game stats. For example, the Information pop-up on a tank will give an historical description of it, a table with it's armour plates with their thicknesses, angles, and an effective resistance value, a table of it's weapons with data on the shells they fire for comparison, and other stats for comparison.
To repeat, it won't be ready for our first release, but we want to make sure that not only is Fortress Europe historically accurate and authentic, but that it's also friendly for new players who are not history buffs, and that there's nothing obscured or hidden from our players. |
For instance, we all know that the Raketenwerfer is, sometimes, not responsive to enemy vehicles running into the cone of fire. It is possible that my "fix" to the soviet AT ambush also breaks the Zis gun in the same way.
The vanilla Raketenwerfer 43 has a longer ready_aim_time than most other weapons of it's type, of 0.25 to 0.375 seconds. Most other guns are just 0.125 seconds. That extra 0.125 to 0.25 second delay is probably enough that a fast moving vehicle could move out of the gun's 5 degree fire cone and force it to traverse and start the aim delay all over again.

Starting in late '43, tank brigades began replacing their T-34 tanks with T-34/85, starting with Guards units who got higher priority. The older T-34 was sent to other units - like cavalry divisions, for example - that had been using older or lighter vehicles for their armoured support, or the T-34 was modified into a specialized variant like a mine-clearer. By late '44 pretty much every tank brigade had a full allotment of the T-34/85.
tl;dr still lots of T-34 tanks in '44 and '45, but not in front-line tank units because they phased them out, so T-34/85 was more commonly seen |
Priest Kangaroo is another option, if you're deadset on adding one. They were only used for a short time when the British had surplus Priests after switching to the Sexton, but they were used and proved that the concept worked. |
There's an ability Riflemen get when they upgrade to M1919 machine-guns. I think it gives Yellow cover when activated, or at least it used to. |
Hate to burst your North Africa bubble, but there's a few things to point out...
My speculation:
7th Infantry Division (United Kingdom) They was in 1938–1939 in Palestine and Egypt
11th Infantry Division (United Kingdom) They was in
Operation Overlord
Operation Market Garden
Battle of the Bulge
Operation Varsity
3rd Infantry Division (United States) They was in North Africa
8th Armoured Division (United Kingdom) He was in Egypt
Thus it is somewhat confusing, but I trust more in the icons
7th Armored Division also fought in Europe.
3rd Division in this case would more likely be the British 3rd Division, not the American one (considering it's a British skin), and they only fought in Europe.
The text references 8th Army Corps, not 8th Armoured Division. The 8th Army Corps only fought in Europe.
So I highly doubt this is clues hinting at North Africa content. |
You'll need to edit the EBP that is built and find the entry that lists what squad is spawned when the construction is complete, and remove the squad. |
Looks pretty bad tbh
I know, which is why we've scrapped all our current progress and have started something new and exciting for Fortress Europe: we're now a MOBA.
Choose a General from WWII, dominate your lane, push past your enemy's tank traps and machine-gun nests, and destroy their base. Will you use Guderian's abilities to empower your panzer minions? Or Zhukov's operational expertise and crushing offensives? Kill enemy Generals and minions to level up and unlock even more abilities, and accomplish objectives on the battlefield to acquire new tech for your side. Collect coins, gems, orbs, souls, pelts, monster body parts, and dry twigs for NPCs who will provide mercenaries and other services to your side. Argue endlessly on forums and in team chat with your allies about why they should uninstall and jump in front of a moving train.
